Workplace engagement company Sodexo Motivation Solutions has launched a new online incentive platform for managers and HR professionals. The Reward Portal – Premium allows users to track employees’ performances and reward them for accomplishing goals.
The new portal uses what the Camberley, England–based incentive company calls a “choice-based” approach to rewarding staff. Employees collect points as they reach various milestones and can then select rewards from the company’s extensive online catalog.
“Employee incentive and reward schemes can provide a powerful tool for staff motivation and engagement when done well, but if they are managed poorly, they can actually have the opposite effect,” said Iain McMath, managing director of Sodexo Motivation Solutions, in a statement. “To have the greatest impact, businesses need to apply these schemes fairly and consistently across the whole organization and offer rewards and incentives that employees truly value.”
He added that managers need to explain the reason for the reward in a clear and timely manner, something that the portal would allow. Part of the program’s aim is to better facilitate peer-to-peer nominations and on-the-spot rewards, making them part of an organization’s everyday culture.
The portal offers extensive tracking tools that allow them to create reports and measure results of the return on investment of the program. It is also hosted on the Amazon Cloud, meaning no software installation is required.
