This informative and important conversation explored the Events Industry Council's recent release of the "Meeting and Event Design Accepted Practices Guide" and additional guides to come.
Intended to serve as an educational tool for industry professionals, the guides are the work of the APEX COVID-19 Business Recovery Task Force. With representation from across the many sectors and regions of the global events ecosystem, this task force is providing a voice and helping amplify our story of economic and social impact.

Amy Calvert

CEO, Events Industry Council

Kristin Horstman

Senior Director, Strategic Events, Salesforce

Kristin-HorstmanKristin Horstman is currently senior director at Salesforce, the No. 1 CRM company. In her role she works on the company's leading events in the technology industry including Dreamforce which hosts more that 170,000 attendees each year in San Francisco. In her role, Kristin works on the event strategy, product experience and overall event design. Kristin's background includes leading both technology and association events and head of events for the Society of Incentive & Travel Executives (SITE).

Michael Dominguez

President and CEO, Associated Luxury Hotels International

ALHI is a global sales organization with a team of nearly 80 professionals located among 26 offices across North America and Europe, ALHI serves a membership group of hotels that are independent hotels and independent brands that are an exclusive luxury collection. Prior to joining ALHI, Michael served in executive sales leadership roles with MGM Resorts, Loews Hotels, Hyatt Hotels, Starwood Hotels and many more.

David Kliman

He has served as international chairman of Meeting Professionals International and as a delegate to the White House Council of Travel and Tourism. He’s co-chaired the MPI/PCMA (Professional Convention Management Association) Tomorrow’s Summit Conference and had served on MPI’s Multi-Cultural Initiative committee. David was awarded one the industry’s highest accolades when he was named MPI International Meeting Planner of the Year in 1999.

Vice President of Meeting Management and Event Strategy, Liberty Mutual Insurance Group

She leads a team of 54 that re-imagine, design and execute international and domestic meetings, incentive programs and global sponsorship events that align with business strategies. She most recently is the Events Industry Council’s 2020 Chair of the Meetings and Event Sub-Committee COVID-19 Business Recovery Task Force, April 2020 profile Liberty Mutual’s Women in Leadership. For 9 years prior to that, Liz was a Director in Integrated Marketing at The Coca-Cola Company, leading a global team in the design of customer and consumer programs for the Company’s global events and sponsorships.
