Bizly, a meetings management and sourcing platform that specializes in small corporate events, can now be used for planning virtual and hybrid small-group experiences. In an additional nod to our current state of meetings restrictions, the latest Bizly update also incorporates new health and safety features that ensure adherence to company policy when booking venues.

The latest Bizly update extends its streamlined template format to virtual meetings, so event teams can create a standardized, best-practices approach to digital events, using existing videoconferencing technology and facilitating the booking process for everyone on the team. The new functionality conforms with Bizly's self-service, user-friendly approach: The templates can be populated with pre-meeting communication guidance, which ensures the process is consistent and eases the learning curve for administrative professionals and less-experienced planners.

The new functionality has been integrated so it can continue to be used alongside the previous registration and booking process as face-to-face meetings return and the gatherings become hybrid events. The platform will clearly designate who is attending in person and who is doing so virtually.

"The world has gone entirely virtual in a matter of months and is likely to stay at least partially virtual for the remainder of this year and into next year," said Bizly CEO Ron Shah. A growing number of planners expect small, local events to increase during the COVID-19 crisis, according to Northstar Meetings Group's latest Pulse Survey. Those will be the meetings for which Bizly was designed, points out the company's chief strategy officer, Kevin Iwamoto. "Given the recent shift to virtual, we wanted to make it easy for our current customers to continue to use Bizly’s great planning features, while also preparing for the return to business planning via hybrid events -- which Bizly is uniquely qualified to help with," he added.

To account for additional safety concerns with those in-person events, Bizly has added guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to its planner section. Planners can customize those guidelines and tailor them to company policy, ensuring that venues and capacities booked conform to all guidelines.

In separate news, Bizly recently announced a partnership with event-management firm Meetings & Incentives Worldwide, whose clients now can use Bizly's technology platform together with the meetings-management and strategic-consulting services from M&IW.
