The St. Regis Budapest, set in the landmark Klotild
Palace, has opened in the Hungarian capital. The hotel has 63 guest rooms and
39 suites, including the Klotild Tower Suite and the two-bedroom Presidential
Suite that has a private balcony that provides sweeping views of the Danube River
and city. All of the hotel's room and suite designs are influenced by the city's
connection to opera and the Art Nouveau style.
The Neo-Baroque Klotild Palace was built at the turn of the
20th century by Her Imperial and Royal Highness Princess Klotild of Saxe-Coburg
and Gotha, and was designed by celebrated architects Flóris Korb and Kálmán
Giergl. Today, the iconic building is a protected UNESCO
architectural site.
The property has
five meeting and event rooms: the John Jacob Astor Boardroom, the grand
Caroline Salon and three additional rooms.
The St. Regis Bar features a stage-inspired layout with
sculptural alcoves and a bar counter framed by a large glass mural painting of
the orchestra playing at the Hungarian State Opera House. The property has two
dining outlets, 99 Sushi Bar & Restaurant and Klotild Patisserie.
The St. Regis Spa offers an indoor pool, a traditional
hammam, a Finnish sauna and three treatment rooms, as well as its Celebration Bar
and a fitness studio.
"The St. Regis Budapest stands as a remarkable expression of
architectural heritage, one that feels inherently aligned with the legacy of
St. Regis," said George Fleck, senior vice president and global grand leader of
St. Regis Hotels & Resorts. "The Astors, our brand's founding family, were
drawn to places where culture, society and celebration converged, and Budapest
embodies that spirit. Bringing the House of Astor to Klotild Palace is a
natural extension of that legacy, introducing our signature rituals, legendary
St. Regis Butler Service and enduring glamour to one of Europe's most storied
capitals, where every moment is designed to be celebrated."
