Over the next few months, Northstar Meetings Group is hosting half a dozen events across North America, from Canada to Hawaii. These hosted-buyer gatherings allow properties and destinations to meet one-on-one with planners. Click here to view the full lineup on the 2023 calendar.

Under One Roof

Northstar’s newest event, Under One Roof will be held June 20-22 at the Club Med Québec-Charlevoix in Canada. As constraints on time and money increase, so does demand for venues that provide packaged solutions for meetings of all sizes. Under One Roof is designed for planners who are booking meetings at properties that can support all of their needs in one place.

Entrepreneur François-Guy Thivierge will lead a session on how to reach your peak in life and at work, and Antoine Suzor-Fortier and Kathy Morin from the Coop de l’arbre (tree co-op) will speak about sustainable forestry.

Small and Boutique Meetings

After hosting the inaugural Small and Boutique Meetings in 2022 in Greenville, S.C., NMG will host the event twice this year, connecting destinations, hotels and DMCs with buyers for groups of fewer than 100 people. The summer iteration is happening July 9-11 at the Harpeth Franklin Downtown in Tennessee.

Education sessions will be led by John Wallis, former CMO and global key leader of key strategic initiatives for Hyatt Hotels, on "Bringing Values to Life: Connecting the Power of Purpose and People," and by Robyn Bass, president and CEO of Aline Services, on "Elevating Small and Boutique-Sized Meetings: Navigating Industry Trends, Local Partnerships, Technology and Post-Pandemic Gaps."

Destination Southeast

The Westin Cape Coral at Marina Village in Florida will host Northstar’s annual Destination Southeast. Being held Aug. 13-15, the event brings together meeting and incentive planners, as well as hotels and resorts, cruise lines and DMOs from the southeastern states, including Georgia, Virginia, Tennessee, and North and South Carolina.

In the midst of a tight labor market, Mark Kamp, CEO of Millenia Productions, will teach attendees how to reenergize, reengage and rebuild rockstar teams.

Destination Caribbean

Destination Caribbean mixes business with pleasure at the Caribe Hilton in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Aug. 27-30. Activities include exploring the rainforest, beach/pool time, a golf clinic, and a mixology and cooking class. The four-day event will be prefaced by a FAM trip at the El Conquistador Resort, Aug. 25-27.

Speaking at Destination Caribbean are Dorothéa Bozicolona-Volpe, principal and founder of Social Espionage, and Joe Fijol, principal of Ethos Event Collective.

Destination Hawaii

Destination Hawaii heads to the Wailea Beach Resort – Maui, Aug. 29-31. This hosted-buyer event connects incentive and event professionals with properties, cruise lines and tourism offices from the islands of Hawaii.

Destination Midwest

The final Northstar event of the summer, Destination Midwest will take place at the Hilton Branson Convention Center in Missouri, Sept. 10-12. Suppliers from the Midwest will meet with planners who are sourcing programs in Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin and more. The agenda includes a site tour of the host hotel, two education sessions and one-on-one appointments.
