Scottsdale’s Hotel Valley Ho has unveiled an $18 million room upgrade, its largest renovation since opening in 1956. The 194 rooms now incorporate a color palette of soft pinks and blues to reflect Arizona’s sunsets, custom artwork by local artist Djamila Fierek, and spacious patios. More than 40,000 square feet of meeting space includes the 3,500-square-foot Sky Line Rooftop and the 5,000-square-foot indoor/outdoor Sands venue.

The revitalization of the Hotel del Coronado’s Victorian building wrapped in June, the culmination of the $550 million resortwide makeover. This last phase updated the Victorian guest rooms, the garden courtyard and its meeting spaces. Two dining destinations were launched as part of the project: Veranda, an alfresco restaurant with ocean views, and Nobu del Coronado, blending the signature Nobu style with local California flavors. Over the past six years, the property has added the Shore House neighborhood, the Southpointe event center, new retail experiences and more. The Southern California property has 718 rooms, suites and villas, and nearly 100,000 square feet of event venues. Hotel del Coronado will host Northstar’s Leadership Forum in December.
Hyatt Regency Irvine

A $55 million refurbishment of the Hyatt Regency Irvine’s guest rooms, public spaces and event facilities was completed recently. At the core of the project were the 14,660-square-foot Regency Ballroom and its adjacent prefunction space, which can accommodate up to 2,100 and 650 attendees, respectively. Other meetings spots are the 10,264-square-foot lawn, the 6,000-square-foot pavilion and the 4,500-square-foot patio. The 516-key property provides a total of 56,000 square feet for gatherings.

The Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego has embarked on a propertywide renovation. Executed in phases from early 2025 through late 2026, the plan touches all 1,628 rooms and suites, more than 320,000 square feet of event rooms, multiple dining venues, the sports court and two rooftop pool decks. The first areas will be completed this winter: the accommodations in the Seaport Tower and the adults-only pool.
The Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara

Perched on a bluff overlooking the Pacific, the Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara has revamped nearly every facet of the property, from 358 rooms spread across 19 villa buildings to a new outdoor terrace and updated pool deck. In addition, all culinary outlets were refreshed and new menus were introduced. The redesign was inspired by the native Chumash people of the region, incorporating custom-designed textiles and indigenous art. Nearly 85,000 square feet of event venues are available to planners.
Beach House Fort Lauderdale, a Hilton Resort

Formerly the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort, the Beach House Fort Lauderdale fully renovated the collection of 38 premium suites, including two penthouse suites, two presidential suites and 32 oceanfront one-bedroom suites. The remaining 337 suites and the lobby also were redesigned. Two new food-and-beverage outlets have been launched: Nubé, a rooftop bar, and Barto, the lobby lounge with Latin and Caribbean-inspired small plates. The property offers 10,700 square feet of function space.
Embassy Suites by Hilton Fort Lauderdale 17th Street

Near the Broward County Convention Center, the Embassy Suites by Hilton Fort Lauderdale 17th Street has unveiled a multimillion-dollar revitalization of its public spaces and guest rooms, as well as a rebranded signature dining experience. Taste Restaurant & Bar serves shareable plates, sandwiches, stone-baked pizzas and more. The hotel has 361 rooms and nearly 11,500 square feet for events.

The 650-room Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort finished a $32 million revitalization of the guest rooms, hallways, meeting space and dining outlet. Out of more than 100,000 square feet of conference space, the five ballrooms, the breakout rooms and the prefunction areas received new furniture, decorative lighting and artwork. The Sea Level Restaurant and Ocean Bar has launched an evening menu and expanded the service hours. More recreational offerings now are available, thanks to six new pickleball courts.
Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center

A $134 million makeover of Kissimmee’s Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center began in March 2024 and culminated in January, remodeling the lobby, the restaurants, two ballrooms and more than 1,400 of the 1,718 rooms. Accounting for 77,000 out of nearly 503,000 square feet of meeting rooms, the Osceola and Sun ballrooms were given new chandeliers, carpeting and fixtures. The recent expansion in 2021 added more than 100,000 square feet for groups. Shortly after reopening, the signature Old Hickory Steakhouse received a “Best of Award of Excellence” from Wine Spectator, ranking its wine list among the top 1,500 in the world.
Grande Lakes Orlando

The 500-acre home of the JW Marriott Orlando, Grande Lakes and the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes Orlando, kicked off the year by opening enhanced pickleball courts. The resurfaced facilities now feature four permanent pickleball courts alongside two tennis courts. Following the renovation of the nearly 226,000 square feet of function venues at the 1,010-room JW Marriott, the 582-key Ritz-Carlton will undergo a similar refresh this year to its 126,578 square feet of event space.
Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort and Spa

On Florida’s Gulf Coast, the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort in Miramar Beach reopened this winter after refreshing all 590 rooms and suites with a coastal-inspired ambience and modern amenities. Two new meeting rooms were introduced for a total of more than 45,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor exhibit areas. Public spaces like the Sandcastle’s Restaurant, the spa and the indoor pool also have been upgraded.

A multimillion-dollar makeover of the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa’s meeting facilities began last month and is expected to wrap up in early fall. New carpeting, wall coverings, light fixtures, restrooms and artwork will improve 82,000 square feet of function venues. The Calusa Ballroom Terrace will feature integrated turf with redesigned landscaping to evoke a tropical garden. A full renovation of the 462 rooms was completed in 2022.

At Mission Resort and Club in Central Florida, the 176 rooms and the 6,200-square-foot spa have been enhanced. Honoring the region’s history, designers sourced black-and-white archival photographs from the Orange County Regional History Center and the Historical Society of Central Florida to incorporate into the guest rooms. Formerly Nicker’s Clubhouse, the Grove House also was reimagined, delivering a fresh take on the classic 19th hole experience. Other amenities include two championship golf courses, three restaurants, eight tennis courts and more than 30,000 square feet for events.

Steps away from Key West’s Mallory Square and its renowned nightly sunset celebrations, Opal Key Resort and Marina has unveiled a revamped lobby and pool area, and added three dining and cocktail experiences. The new signature restaurant, Lolita’s Coastal Cocina, brings Latin-inspired flavors with a taco bar, tequila flights and more. Other F&B options now also include the rooftop Elevate Sky Bar and Lounge, and the poolside Ka’Teen. The waterfront property offers 178 rooms and nearly 16,500 square feet of exhibit venues.

Saddlebrook Resort near Tampa is undergoing a $92 million transformation that will encompass the lobby, the rooms, the event spaces, the golf courses, the restaurants and the pools. The two 18-hole courses will be reconfigured into one 27-hole layout, and a new coffee shop will open in the lobby. Upon completion, Saddlebrook will have 40,000 square feet of revamped ballrooms, in addition to the existing 175,000 square feet of outdoor meeting areas.
Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead

The Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead has finished a multiphase transformation, elevating 439 rooms and more than 42,000 square feet of conference areas. One of the reimagined event spaces is the outdoor West Terrace, which now features a garden with firepits. In February, the property unveiled Le Petit Chef at Cassis Restaurant, a dinner theater experience where guests are guided through a five-course meal by an animated chef.
Moana Surfrider
To be completed: 2026
Known as the "First Lady of Waikiki," Honolulu's Moana Surfrider has begun a revitalization, slated for completion before the resort’s 125th anniversary in March. The first phase to debut will be the renovated lobby and guest rooms in the Tower Wing in late summer, followed by the Banyan and Diamond wings this winter, accounting for all 791 rooms. This fall, a new event space will open with a capacity of 200 people, adding on to the 25,876 square feet of exhibit venues.
Hyatt Centric Chicago O’Hare

Less than 2 miles from O’Hare International Airport, the Hyatt Centric Chicago O’Hare reopened following a revamp of its 206 rooms, the lobby, the dining outlet and the meeting space. The new signature restaurant, Cima, is serving up Mediterranean fare with a focus on locally sourced ingredients, and offers a 50-seat outdoor patio. Planners can choose between more than 7,600 square feet for their groups.
Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center

Now open at at National Harbor's Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center are Capital Confectionery and the Whiskey Revolution, enhancing the on-site food-and-beverage experience. The former is a French-inspired sweet shop, and the latter is a tasting room featuring more than 100 types of premium whiskeys. Both offer new experiences for groups, such as whiskey tastings and cake-decorating classes. The massive property features nearly 2,000 rooms and 600,000 square feet of exhibit space.
The Hotel at Arundel Preserve

A makeover of the Hotel at Arundel Preserve’s 150 rooms began in mid-December and wrapped in mid-March. The Hanover property had redesigned the lobby and 10,000 square feet of meeting rooms in 2023, adding seating in the prefunction areas, as well as enhanced lighting and updated furnishings.

To commemorate its centennial, the Wequassett Resort and Golf Club on Cape Cod debuted a $12 million revamp ahead of the summer travel season. The second phase refreshed all 113 rooms, villas and cottages, as well as the pool area and Twenty-eight Atlantic, the fine-dining restaurant. Phase one, completed last summer, encompassed the lobby and event rooms. In total, the property features nearly 19,000 square feet of meeting space.
Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort and Spa

On the Santa Ana Pueblo, a Native American reservation near Albuquerque, the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort and Spa has finished a $15 million revamp of all 350 rooms. Educational and cultural experiences, some of which are led by tribe members, are available to groups. The property provides 54,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor function venues.
Park Hyatt New York

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the Park Hyatt New York unveiled the Manhattan Suite, a 3,500-square-foot room on the 25th floor. Part of a $10 million investment, the suite contains three bedrooms, three bathrooms, two half-bathrooms, two balconies, an eight-seat dining table and a fully equipped kitchen. Rates start at $50,000 with a two-night minimum. The 211-key property offers 6,200 square feet of meeting space.

The highly anticipated restoration of the Waldorf Astoria New York finally debuted this summer, and the iconic hotel will begin welcoming guests again on Sept. 1. After an eight-year, multibillion-dollar transformation, the property is now comprised of 375 keys and 372 private residences, ranging from studios to four bedrooms. Peacock Alley makes its return with signature cocktails, light bites, and the historic Waldorf Astoria Clock and Cole Porter piano. Guests also can look forward to the opening of the sauna, the steam room and the Guerlain Wellness Spa later this year. The hotel has 43,000 square feet of reimagined conference areas.
The Foundry Hotel

In Asheville’s historic Black business district, the 87-room Foundry Hotel added the Refinery to its meeting offerings. The 1,200-square-foot space can accommodate up to 85 guests and brings the total square footage of function areas to nearly 6,000.
The Sanderling Resort

Marking the property’s 40th anniversary, the Sanderling Resort has unveiled reimagined interiors, a restaurant by acclaimed chef Vivian Howard and an additional gathering space. The new Sunset Ballroom is a 2,481-square-foot waterfront venue with vaulted ceilings and hanging lanterns. In Duck on the Outer Banks, the 123-room property now features more than 18,000 square feet for meetings. Theodosia, the hotel’s latest culinary addition named after Aaron Burr’s daughter, serves elevated Southern fare, such as flaked bluefish and potato puffs, blueberry BBQ duck, and tomato pie.
Grand Bohemian Asheville

Following flood damage from Hurricane Helene last fall, the Grand Bohemian Asheville has reopened with a redesigned lobby, guest rooms and event space. Signature restaurant Red Stag Grill also was redone, complete with a 131-seat private dining room. The 104-room hotel features nearly 5,100 square feet of meeting venues.
Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino and Hotel

The Valley Tower at Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino and Hotel in Murphy has been completed, adding 296 rooms, a rooftop restaurant, a salon and spa, and an indoor pool. Nearly doubling the amount of rooms, the property now features 596 keys, 60 table games and more than 1,300 slots. To accommodate the influx of both travelers and casino-goers, Harrah’s also built a five-story parking deck. In May 2024, the hotel added 25,000 square feet to the casino floor as part of the $275 million expansion.
The Inn on Biltmore Estate

In Asheville, a two-year refurbishment of the Inn on Biltmore Estate’s 211 rooms and hallways has been unveiled. Comprised of the Inn, the Village Hotel and the Cottages, the iconic campus provides nearly 80,000 square feet of function space, including the 3,200-square-foot Walled Garden and the 31,270-square-foot South Terrace.
The Bellevue

Part of Hyatt’s Unbound Collection, the Bellevue finalized its restoration project in February. The historic Philadelphia property debuted an 1,800-square-foot presidential suite, featuring an antique mantel in the living room and a four-poster bed. Last November, the Bellevue unveiled 184 revamped rooms and the Sporting Club, a 100,000-square-foot fitness and recreational center. For groups, the hotel offers more than 30,000 square feet of conference space.

A $9 million refurbishment of the Newport Marriott Hotel and Spa was completed ahead of the popular New England summer travel season, spanning all 320 rooms, the pool area and the 5th-floor terraces overlooking Newport Harbor. What was once an open space has been converted into the 2,600-square-foot Hideaway Terrace pool deck and bar, with a capacity of 150 people. The property has nearly 25,000 square feet of meeting rooms, making it the largest event venue in the area.
Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center
To be completed: Spring 2027
Nashville’s Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center has announced a $131 million expansion. Already underway, the massive project will add 108,000 square feet of conference areas, bringing the total to approximately 756,000 square feet. New additions include a 31,000-square-foot ballroom, a 6,200-square-foot event lawn and a 3,000-square-foot pavilion. The 2,888-room property previously upgraded the Governor’s and Presidential ballrooms.

Ahead of the five-year closure of the Austin Convention Center, the AT&T Hotel and Conference Center’s renovation began in the spring. The $30 million project focuses on modernizing the 85,000 square feet of event rooms with a new junior ballroom, advanced A/V and reimagined foyers. Scheduled to be completed over the summer, the 297-room property is open during construction.

At the beginning of the year, the W Austin completed a refurbishment of the lobby and 251 rooms and suites, all of which are now decorated with concert images from Austin City Limits photographer Scott Newton. Serenade American Brasserie, the hotel’s newest culinary venture, blends local Texas ingredients with classic brasserie techniques in such dishes as duck confit and blue crab Benedict. The property has 12,600 square feet of function space.
Boar’s Head Resort

In Charlottesville, the 600-acre Boar’s Head Resort has finished revamping the event facilities and golf course, as well as installing three padel courts. The 168-key property offers 22,000 square feet of conference space. These updates came ahead of the debut of the on-property Birdwood Mansion, a 19th-century estate that is being transformed into a seven-room inn, scheduled to open this fall.
Hilton Milwaukee
To be completed: Late 2025
The Hilton Milwaukee, the city’s largest hotel, is in the middle of a $42 million renovation, the most extensive in the history of Marcus Hotels and Resorts. The project encompasses the lobby, 34,000 square feet of meeting venues and all 554 rooms in the property’s original footprint, effectively removing the remaining 175 from its inventory to align with projected room supply and demand. Once the transformation began, the property was rebranded from the Hilton Milwaukee City Center to simply the Hilton Milwaukee.

Hilton Sydney

The
Hilton Sydney invested $40 million to modernize its lobby, lounge,
hallways and Marble Bar, and added a dozen rooms, bringing the total to
598. For groups, 43,000 square feet of exhibit space is available.
Courtyard by Marriott Nassau Downtown/Junkanoo Beach

one of the Courtyard by Marriott Nassau Downtown/Junkanoo Beach’s
remodeling encompassed the entire event center. More than 6,000 square
feet across an expansive ballroom, a meeting room and a boardroom have been
modernized. The 201-room property provides on-site catering and a dedicated
event planning team.
Marriott Downtown at CF Toronto Eaton Centre

The
upgraded meeting and event space at the Marriott Downtown at CF Toronto
Eaton Centre reopened on April 1. Improvements included technology
advancements, a new lighting system, digital signage and an app-based
service for real-time support. The 461-room hotel features more than
26,000 square feet of exhibit areas, such as two pillarless ballrooms, a
large prefunction space and the Par Bar Topgolf Swing Suite.

Part
of a phased renovation of its meeting spaces, the 830-room Hilton Tokyo
currently is remodeling the entire fourth floor, where the Kiku
Ballroom and prefunction space can be found. Last year’s revitalization
of the third floor added 2,150 square feet of exhibit areas for a grand
total of 26,900.
Hilton Tokyo Bay

The
828-key Hilton Tokyo Bay transformed its ninth-floor standard
accommodations into deluxe rooms and suites. The former features
Japanese-inspired décor and overlooks either Tokyo Bay or Tokyo Disney
Resort; the latter has a living room and hardwood flooring, and offers panoramic views of Tokyo Bay. On-site group offerings include 19 event
rooms totaling nearly 50,000 square feet.
Hilton Petaling Jaya

Offering
seamless access to Kuala Lumpur, the Hilton Petaling Jaya recently
upgraded the guest rooms, wellness facilities and meeting space. Guests
can expect diverse culinary options, from authentic Malaysian fare at
Paya Serai to elevated Cantonese cuisine at Toh Yuen and modern Japanese
dishes at Genji. The property provides 547 rooms and more than 25,000
square feet of exhibit venues.
JW Marriott Hotel Lima

The
luxury property in the Peruvian capital has updated its 300 rooms and
suites, all of which have ocean views. The hotel also provides four
food-and-beverage outlets and more than 15,600 square feet of function
venues. Off-site attractions include Larcomar entertainment center, the
government palace in Lima’s main square and the Pachacamac Ruins.
St. Regis Singapore

As
part of an ongoing revitalization, the St. Regis Singapore unveiled the
redesigned John Jacob Ballroom. Spanning 7,638 square feet, the space
can host 400 guests for table rounds or 500 theater-style. The 299-key hotel offers 10 event rooms
totaling nearly 15,000 square feet.
