Incentive industry leader David Jobes, CEO of Motivation Excellence, passed away on July 6. He worked at the award-winning company for 32 years before purchasing it in 2018.
A statement from the Motivation Excellence team remembers Jobes as “a leader in the performance-improvement and incentive industry who helped create an award-winning culture, as well as a competitive and long-standing company in a niche community. While leading the company, he molded the culture of the business to reflect his values of respect, integrity, trust, exceeding expectations, charity, collaboration and environmental stewardship.”
Effectively immediately, Motivation Excellence executives Bob Graham and Michelle Ebner have been named co-CEOs and co-presidents of the incentive firm.
Leaves a Company Legacy
Jobes expanded the company in 2021 with the purchase of Viktor Incentives & Meetings. Under his leadership, Motivation Excellence has been named a Best and Brightest Companies to Work For recipient six times and won two Society for Incentive Travel Excellence Crystal Awards for outstanding travel programs.
He fostered a give-back culture at Motivation Excellence: The company donated more than $100,000 to various charities, most of which were hand-selected by his employees. He was a strong supporter of Ingage Unlimited, an international volunteer-training organization that sends groups to impoverished locations throughout the world to provide training in the areas of education, health care, business and leadership development.
According to the company statement, “His team will continue David’s legacy through exemplary service to their clients, each other and the community. The entire Motivation Excellence team sends their deepest sympathies to his family.”
