Northstar Hosts Inaugural Destination Southwest in Texas

Formerly Destination Texas, the event will be held Nov. 29-Dec. 1 in South Padre Island.

Northstar Meetings Group is holding its first-ever Destination Southwest event at the Margaritaville Beach Resort – South Padre Island in Texas on Nov. 29-Dec. 1. Formerly Destination Texas, the hosted-buyer event is designed for suppliers across the Southwest region and planners looking to book business in Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Nevada and/or Texas.

The Margaritaville Beach Resort (RIP Jimmy) offers 253 rooms and 8,500 square feet of meeting space.

The opening education session will be presented by Tracy Stuckrath, founder of Thrive! Meetings and Events. In "How Event F&B Supports DEIA Efforts," Stuckrath will answer questions such as "What is an inclusive menu and how do I design one?", "What other elements should be considered when planning inclusive F&B experiences?" and "What is the risk for failing to create such events?"

Other items on the agenda include a tour of the host property, two evening receptions and one-on-one appointments. Stay tuned for more details.

The dates have already been announced for next year’s Destination Southwest, which will be held Dec. 4-6, 2024, at the Woodlands Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton, in Texas.
