The Global Incentive Summit will be held at the Rimrock Resort Hotel in Banff, Canada.
Northstar’s Global Incentive
Summit, which runs Oct. 18-20 at the Rimrock
Resort Hotel in Banff, is set
to be one of Canada's first major in-person, international incentive events this year,
following the Aug. 9 reopening of the country’s borders to fully
vaccinated
U.S. citizens and Sept. 7 reopening for fully vaccinated
citizens from other countries.
The much-anticipated event, which
was held virtually in 2020, will offer participants one-on-one meetings, an
agenda of timely education, and the
opportunity to experience the gorgeous destination, perched high in the
awe-inspiring Canadian Rockies. This unique event is hosted by Northstar Meetings Group's industry-leading brands: Successful
Meetings, Meetings & Conventions, Incentive and Meeting News. Northstar
is now accepting registration
for suppliers and fully hosted buyers.
Canada’s meetings and incentive community is well-prepared to host the event. “Our
community was built to welcome visitors; we are open, ready and eager to
welcome groups,” said Kira Lu,
director of business events, Banff
and Lake Louise Tourism. “Banff and Lake Louise offer incredible
experiences that reconnect people to nature and the outdoors.”
“Hosting GIS is an incredible opportunity for us,” noted Mark Zanetti, incentive specialist at Business Events Canada. “Not only are we able to showcase the destination and country, but we are also able to help reopen our industry safely in a post-Covid world.”
Strict
Health Protocols in Place
All
Global Incentive Summit attendees will be required to follow Northstar's
stringent health protocols, which adhere to CDC
and local requirements (proof of vaccination 14 days prior to the
event or a Canadian government-approved quarantine plan for anyone not
vaccinated). Daily temperature screenings will be taken, and a quarantine area will be reserved for anyone whose
temperature is higher than 99-degrees Fahrenheit. Northstar’s events team
will brief all participants on required documentation and health
measures prior to the event.
Registration
Now Open
The roster of enthusiastic
participants is growing quickly. “My first Global
Incentive Summit was the virtual event in November 2020, and I am definitely
looking forward to attending this year’s GIS in Banff,” said Mary Ann
MacDonald, business events manager, Americas, for Business Events Australia.
“The virtual GIS was well-organized, and the incentive planners interested
in international destinations such as Australia were well-worth meeting. It
will be wonderful to meet and network with everyone again — in person!”
“I’m very much looking forward to
this year’s event in Banff,” echoed said Joshua Novick, London & Partner’s vice president, North America. “The
fantastic host destinations and the attention to detail creates a great
experience for both the clients and the suppliers. The Global Incentive Summit offers one-of-a-kind
experiences coupled with productive business results.”
