London-based event tech provider Hopin is continuing its shopping spree with the acquisition of Attendify, the fifth company Hopin has purchased in the past year. Hopin, which rose to prominence in 2020 with its virtual-events platform, closed a $400 million Series C funding in March and scored a potentially multibillion-dollar investment from LinkedIn in June. Attendify, which offers an easy-to-use integrated event-marketing platform that includes registration, audience management and engagement tools, now further expands Hopin's capabilities as an "all-in-one" event management platform.
“As we continue to help our customers navigate a reshaped events industry, our focus remains on investing in Hopin’s all-in-one platform, including augmenting it with intuitive marketing tools," said Hopin CEO and founder Johnny Boufarhat. "With the addition of Attendify, our event marketing suite gets even better and we can deliver more meaningful tools to organizers that drive growth.”
Attendify joins a list of Hopin purchases that includes on-site event solution provider Boomset, streaming platform StreamYard, mobile engagement app Topi, video-hosting service Streamable and video technology company Jamm.
Hopin announced the Attendify purchase to kick off Illuminate, a hybrid event for planners designed to highlight industry innovation as well as share the latest news about the two-year-old company. Among other announcements, Hopin has launched a new free plan that allows people to create virtual events for up to 100 people, with a duration of up to two hours. The company has also integrated GoFundMe into its platform, allowing for seamless in-event donations.
