An experienced destination sales and marketing professional, Black formerly served as senior director, European MICE, for NYC & Company, the city's convention bureau. “I am delighted to be taking on the role… and looking forward to meeting as many people as possible in the sector as I review how VisitBritain/VisitEngland should focus its efforts to deliver value to the industry,” said Black.

“We are delighted to welcome Paul to the role of head of business events, with his experience and knowledge of the industry and his proven track record of sales and strategic consultancy,” said VisitBritain/VisitEngland deputy CEO Patricia Yates. “Following a difficult time for the business-events sector, it is more crucial than ever that we are able to support U.K. destinations, venues and suppliers in their recovery. Through the work that Paul and his team will deliver, we are confident we can secure major international business events and continue to showcase why the U.K. is a leading choice for the MICE sector.”
