Why Ireland’s Rich Culture and Impressive Venues Make it a Welcoming Event Destination

From Killarney to Belfast to the coast of Northern Ireland, see how this region delivers one-of-a-kind meetings and incentives.

Thanks to its stunning venues, natural beauty and unforgettable experiences, Ireland continues to rise as a top-tier event destination. Just a five-hour flight from the east coast of the U.S., and a quick jaunt from much of Europe, the destination’s accessibility is matched by its friendliness. Attendees visiting here will quickly become familiar with the phrase Céad Míle Fáilte — 100,000 greetings.

In this video, see what makes this such a delightful destination for groups, whether focusing the gathering in one of Ireland’s dynamic cities, or venturing out into some of its more distant corners.

Viewers will get an insider look at Northstar Meetings Group’s recent Global Incentive Summit, held at Killarney’s famed The Europe Hotel & Resort, where incentive planners met with CVBs, hoteliers, tour operators and other partners based in Ireland and farther-flung destinations. They also explored the wider destination with group activities at Killarney Brewing & Distillery, Ard na Sidhe Country House Hotel and The Great Southern Hotel; learned about local agriculture and culinary traditions at Muckross Traditional Farms and Urban Garden, took a jaunting cart tour of Killarney National Park and closed out the night with a Ceol agus Craic of singing and dancing.

Beyond Killarney, this video explores the wider appeal of this destination, following along on a familiarization trip of Northern Ireland. A select group of incentive planners experienced how this region could provide an incredible experience on its own or as part of a broader Irish-themed program. The participants balanced stays at luxurious properties including Hillsborough Castle, Slieve Donard Hotel and Galgorm Manor with tours of the astonishing Giants Causeway (complete with walk across the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge) and architectural and historic highlight Titanic Belfast. See the range of culinary experiences the group enjoyed as well, including a cooking demonstration at Waterman House, private dining experience at Mourne Larder, whiskey tasting at Killowen Distillery and soda bread making at Tracey’s Farmhouse Kitchen.

Watch the video to see how to incorporate the romance and grandeur of Ireland into your next event.
