Why Columbia, S.C., Is Great for Business Events

A meeting planner shares his reasons for bringing an association of educators to this southern city.

When the National Council for Geographic Education sought a destination for its annual conference, it aimed for a place that was big enough to handle its large group of teachers — but not so big that their attendees would get lost. The city of Columbia, S.C., proved to be a perfect fit.

In this video, Charlie Regan, executive director for the National Council for Geographic Education, explains how his group of geography teachers (for levels ranging from kindergarten to university) found Columbia to be a delightful option for the event. This was thanks to its range of venues and appealing hotel package, as well as a variety of restaurants, entertainment options and cultural/historical institutions offering plenty of interesting options for the intellectually curious. The fact that Columbia is the state’s educational hub, and offers easy walkability for visitors only made it that much more ideal.

Watch the video above to see why this meeting planner loves Columbia.
