Meetings Industry Mourns Passing of Didier Scaillet

The former SITE CEO also held leadership roles at organizations including Meeting Professionals International and the Events Industry Council.

Veteran events industry executive Didier Scaillet, CIS, CITP, passed away on July 9, according to the Society for Incentive Travel Excellence, where he served as CEO from 2018-2020, before resigning for health reasons. 

In a statement posted on SITE's website, the organization says, "All at SITE are shocked and saddened by the passing yesterday (July 9) of the association’s former CEO, Didier Scaillet, following a spell in hospital. Our hearts go out to his wife Sabine and his children, Martin, Morgane and Giles."

Events Industry Leader

In addition to his role at SITE, Scaillet served in leadership positions at a number of industry organizations. He most recently was senior director of corporate fundraising at the Internet Society Foundation.

He also held a number executive roles such as chief development officer at Meeting Professionals International during his 21-year career with the association. His career also included serving as director of the Events Industry Council, first vice-chair of the Incentive Federation and vice president of business development for the Cruise Lines International Association.
