Under One Roof Highlights Advantages of Integrated Resorts

The new event, held at the all-inclusive Club Med Quebec Charlevoix, brought together planners with suppliers from properties offering turnkey services.

Northstar Meetings Group’s inaugural Under One Roof event, which took place June 20-22 at the Club Med Quebec Charlevoix, brought together 50 hosted buyers and suppliers to the beautiful mountain region north of Quebec City. During the event, planners met one-on-one with representatives of resorts that offer simplified, turnkey pricing and solutions for groups in one place.  

Attendees were inspired on the first morning by alpinist Francois-Guy Thivierge, a local hero who has climbed more than 30 famed peaks around the globe. Thivierge explained how patience, working with a trusted team and changing plans on the fly helped him reach the summit of Mount Everest, despite many setbacks, and encouraged the group to set new goals once they have achieved their dream. His new life goal: to climb 55 peaks before he turns 55.

During the second educational session, environmental advocates Kathy Morin and Antoine Suzor-Fortier shared how they work to preserve the trees and pristine environment of Charlevoix, and treated the audience to some delectable fruits of the forest, including mushroom tea, pine-infused energy balls, and white birch and maple syrups.

Participants networked during cocktail hours, meals and activities, including a locavore foodie tour to sample emu meat; cheese and honey-based potables; as well as a spectacular, late-night “Carousel of Light” show, viewed via ski lift at the Le Massif ski resort adjacent to the Club Med.
