In selecting Toronto as the host city for its 2022 Annual Convention, Destinations International’s leaders had high hopes that the city would provide an inspiring backdrop for its gathering of destination marketing organizations. Working with Destination Toronto, the organizations ensured that the event tapped into the destination’s rich variety of remarkable venues, world-class restaurants and only-in-Toronto activities. Combine that with innovative meeting spaces plus world-class hotels and it’s no wonder why countless companies choose Toronto as their preferred venue.
In this video, Destination Toronto’s associate director of destination services, Jennifer Main, discusses working with Destinations International to help bring their event to life. By understanding their meeting objectives and fostering collaboration, they were able to work together to coordinate this event effectively. Destinations International CEO/President Don Welsh and Director of Education, Sales and Services Emily Scheiderer share their experiences working with the destination partner to pull off the large-scale gathering. Main discusses how they helped to elevate the event further with a $25,000 scholarship for first-time attendees and a fundraiser for The Canadian Ukrainian Immigration Aid Society. These are just a few examples of how Destination Toronto went the extra mile with their personal service for this event.
