The promise of sun, surf and sand against the backdrop of a fabulous resort makes for powerful motivation. Among properties worthy of reward designation, all-inclusive resorts are particularly suitable, as these luxe playgrounds offer myriad opportunities for fun, relaxation and the creation of lifelong happy memories, all at the convenience of one literally all-inclusive price.
The following properties should be on every incentive planner's radar. Each offers sybaritic comfort, an extensive roster of enjoyable activities, lots of local color -- and even the facilities to get some work done, if desired.
Next Stop, Resort Perfection
Unveiled in December 2018, the Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real (pictured above) in Punta Cana, the Dominican Republic, is a "resort within a resort" at Meliá Hotels International's all-inclusive Paradisus Palma Real. Designed in a circle to reflect a commitment to "wholeness and perfection," the Grand Reserve features 432 one- and two-bedroom suites, including a selection of swim-up accommodations with direct access to an exclusive pool, lush gardens and a solarium. Also on hand are seven restaurants and bars, a full-service spa, a beach club, a family-friendly kids club and waterpark, and a fitness facility. Your winners will have access to all the services and amenities at the Paradisus Palma Real, where there are another 15 restaurants, a theater, a golf course, five pools, a spa and an 18,000-square-foot convention center.
Music to Travelers' Ears
The recently opened Melody Maker Cancún, a beachfront entertainment resort in Mexico, describes itself as "Vegas-meets-Cancún." Opened last December, the all-inclusive property was named for the weekly British music magazine Melody Maker. The hotel features 679 guest rooms and suites; a concert venue that's home to the world's largest video-projection mapping technology; a day club complete with cabanas, a pool and a Jacuzzi; plus a night club; five restaurants serving global cuisines; champagne and coffee bars; a fitness center, and a spa. For meetings, if you have to drag your winners off the beach, the resort has more than 33,000 square feet of space, as a new convention center opened in May.
"At Melody Maker Hotels, we believe it's better to live life than to dream it," said Melody Maker product and brand manager Pablo Alvarez Sastre when the property debuted.
A one-price option coming to the Dominican Republic is the adults-only Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana, set to open in November in the master-planned gated resort community next to Punta Cana. On the shores of Juanillo Beach, the resort will have 375 oceanfront suites -- some of them swim-up accommodations -- as well as six restaurants, five bars and lounges, a beachfront infinity pool, a state-of-the-art gym, an outdoor amphitheater with live entertainment, and a 26,900-square-foot underground spa.
The property's more than 45,000 square feet of meeting space features a 15,000-square-foot ballroom and 16 breakout rooms. Its sister resort, the family-friendly Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana, will have its own 375 suites, as well as a water park.
Between the Sea and a Hard Rock Place
The luxury Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos joined the brand's all-inclusive collection when it opened in July. Part of the Diamante development along the Pacific Ocean at the southern tip of Mexico's Baja Peninsula, the resort offers 639 rooms with a kicked-back version of the trademark Hard Rock atmosphere. Here you'll find the Rock Spa and Body Rock fitness center, five pools with swim-up bars, a collection of water slides, eight restaurants, three lounges and a bowling alley. Guests have access to the Diamante complex's three golf courses, designed by Davis Love III and Tiger Woods. The property has 56,000 square feet of event space.
For smaller groups that want to be rewarded closer to home, there's the Bungalows Key Largo, the Florida Keys' first all-inclusive resort. The property, which debuted in December 2018, occupies 12 acres and has 135 freestanding accommodations, among them 30 waterfront bungalows -- most of which span 1,000 square feet and come with their own outdoor plunge pools or tubs.
Guests here enjoy amenities like two pools, multiple indoor and outdoor dining options, 1,000 feet of shoreline and three piers for boats of up to 40 feet. The boutique spa features men's and women's locker rooms, a steam room, a sauna, indoor relaxation areas and four outdoor treatment cabanas adjacent to a "Zen Pool," where attendants serve spa-inspired cocktails and mocktails. The resort provides 4,000 square feet of event space for groups of up to 270 people. Full buyouts are available.
