The October edition of PlanetIMEX, the virtual learning and
networking experience from the IMEX Group, launched today. The
event is the second version of PlanetIMEX, which debuted in May following the cancellation of IMEX Frankfurt 2020, the organization's annual
trade show that was to take place in Germany. IMEX created the October version
when the group was forced to cancel IMEX America 2020, the annual trade show typically held in Las Vegas
every fall.
"We’ve evolved PlanetIMEX
so that it continues to deliver really strong content - information
that’s vital for the here and now – along with an element of surprise," IMEX Group CEO Carina Bauer explained.
"PlanetIMEX has a whole new look and feel this time around and we can’t
wait for business event and meetings industry professionals to dive into
our wonderful new world."
Day one of PlanetIMEX offered virtual attendees a full day of creative
virtual experiences, such as latte portraiture, dance and wine classes, as well as "behind-the-scenes" looks at the new Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Days two and three, Oct. 13 and 14, will be dedicated to education. Daniel Fox, explorer,
author and photographer, will deliver Tuesday's keynote about nature (a major IMEX talking point
for 2020 and 2021) and its power to transform both the individual and
collective human experience. Digital futurist Brian Fanzo will explain how event professionals can update their skill set in
line with the changing business climate on Oct. 14.
The lineup on Oct. 15 offers education that targets three types of event
professionals: The Association Leadership Forum, the corporate-focused Executive Meeting Forum
and the IMEX-MPI-MCI Future Leaders Forum, which targets new event
professionals.
The final day of the event, Oct. 16, is Community
Day — which is dedicated to content and education presented by IMEX Group partners. Among the sessions is "Reporting on Covid-19's Impact on the Meetings
Industry," a webcast presented by Northstar Meeting Group's editors from the United Kingdom, United States and Asia.
