Global hospitality-technology company Cendyn has acquired Knowland, the provider of meetings and event data that offers data insights based on information from more than 7,500 hotels in the United States and some international markets.
Cendyn is looking to grow its customer base by incorporating Knowland's group-business insights into its offerings for hoteliers. It will pair Knowland's meeting-and-event data with its Sales CRM, Proposals and Grouprev products to enhance group-booking possibilities.
In conjunction with the acquisition, Cendyn also revealed it has bolstered its private equity portfolio by adding Austin-based Haveli Investments to its current investors. The extra investment power, and Haveli's focus on high-quality tech companies, will contribute to Cendyn's continued growth.
"To effectively sell group business, hoteliers need immediate access to data, and Knowland’s event-intelligence platform is undoubtedly the market leader in this area," noted Cendyn CEO Jack Blaha. "Its sales intelligence complements our Sales CRM, helping hoteliers find their target audiences. Then, using our Proposals and Grouprev platforms, hoteliers can complete the booking process. It’s the perfect fit with our commitment to helping hoteliers ‘find, book and grow’ their businesses."
Knowland, which is celebrating its 20th year in 2024, is headquartered in the Washington, D.C., area. Cendyn, founded nearly 30 years ago, serves 32,000 customers across more than 150 countries, with offices in the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Bangkok and India.
