When the American Society of Association Executives brings its annual meeting to Columbus, Ohio, Aug. 10-13, the city's convention and visitors bureau will aim to please attendees with its entertainment lineup. Experience Columbus will fly in John Legend and Brad Paisley for ASAE's two big networking events, the Classic, a fundraiser for the ASAE Foundation, and the closing-night event.

Convening in the Greater Columbus Convention Center, ASAE is expected to draw more than 5,000 participants who are expected to spend more than $16 million in the city.

The Classic with Legend will take place at the Nationwide Arena on the evening of Aug. 12; VIP tickets, which include entry to a pre-event reception., are $250; general admission runs $150. The Closing Celebration, featuring Paisley, will have a fashion-runway theme at Express Live!, Columbus' indoor-outdoor convertible venue.

The event's opening keynote address will feature the coauthors of New Power: How Power Works in Our Hyperconnected World — and How to Make It Work for You. Jeremy Heimans is cofounder and CEO of Purpose, an organization whose mission is to "build and support movements to advance the fight for an open, just and habitable world," and Henry Timms is president and CEO of Manhattan's 92nd Street Y. Their 2014 TED talks have garnered more than 1.25 million views.

The closing keynote speaker will be singer, actor and dancer Alton Fitzgerald White, who set a record with his 4,308 performances as King Mufasa in "The Lion King." Taking off from his autobiography, My Pride: Mastering Life's Daily Performance, his talk will center on doing your best every day.
