Celebrity Cruises has partnered with the American Ballet Theatre and Michelin-starred chef Daniel Boulud as it aims to expand its offerings to guests and groups.
"Our guests know to expect something unique, upscale and unexpected each time they step onboard," said Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, president and CEO, Celebrity Cruises, during the Feb. 13 media event announcing the partnerships, which included ballet performances at the 583 Park Avenue event venue, followed by dinner at Boulud's Daniel restaurant. "By partnering with American Ballet Theatre and the world's leading culinary authority, Daniel Boulud, we are creating experiences that won't just meet those expectations -- but shatter them."
Exclusive American Ballet Theatre guest performances will be featured on select ships, as well as intimate seminars and ballet barre classes with the dancers. In addition, excursions at ports of call where American Ballet Theatre is performing will be arranged.
"American Ballet Theatre's mission is to bring the best of ballet to the widest possible audience," said Kara Medoff Barnett, executive director of the more than 80-year-old American Ballet Theatre. "We are thrilled to redefine widest to now include audiences at sea."
As Celebrity's Global Culinary Brand Ambassador, Boulud will design signature dishes for Luminae, the brand's exclusive restaurant for suite-class guests. Celebrity is also introducing Chef's Table by Daniel Boulud, complete with a private galley tour and five-course dining experience. Guests will leave with a printed copy of their menu, a photograph of themselves at the event and a cookbook. Twice per year, Boulud chefs will host onboard cooking demonstrations, attend VIP guest reception and prepare lunch or dinner featuring Daniel Boulud cuisine with a Celebrity Cruises chef.
"I'm excited to embark on this partnership with Celebrity Cruises as we share a common passion for excellence, personalized service and creative cuisine for our guests," said Boulud.
The new experiences with both American Ballet Theatre and Chef Boulud will begin rolling out across the fleet this year, starting with Celebrity Summit, then Celebrity Equinox and Celebrity Millennium.
