TripActions Adds Meetings Support to Team Travel Platform

The latest solution incorporates the service and expertise of the Reed & Mackay travel and event management brand.

Travel and spend management company TripActions has beefed up its Meetings & Events solution by integrating its Team Travel booking platform with the full-service support of Reed & Mackay, a London-based travel and event agency it acquired in May.

TripActions, which is known for its AI-driven booking platform and a focus on self-serve business travel, rolled out Team Travel in 2020 as a do-it-yourself tool focused on travel for meetings of up to 20 people and their guests. That was largely in response to the need to bring disparate employees together, according to Matt Irwin, head of groups, meetings and events for TripActions. "As more companies are embracing hybrid and remote-work models, and allowing their travelers to work from wherever, we've seen an uptick in internal meetings," he said. "Maintaining culture and collaboration is something that's really important to companies."

The Team Travel platform allows a meeting organizer to select participants, destination, event start and end dates, preferred hotels and payment methods. The platform can estimate travel costs and carbon emissions, as well as provide current Covid restrictions and health guidance relevant to the destination.

The latest release now streamlines the handoff between that automated process and the interaction of Reed & Mackay agents. Any event that exceeds 25 attendees or requires high-touch service will automatically send a request to their team.

"In terms of business travel, we've always looked for opportunities to create more self-service and offer seamless, consumer-grade booking tools," said Irwin. "We really wanted to scale out our self-service offering for meetings and events as well."

The expanded TripActions Meetings & Events includes a dedicated event team, dynamic budget management, group-travel experts and 24-hour on-site assistance. As a result, TripActions clients have support for large offsite meetings, complex international group travel, and executive and high-profile meetings, among many other possibilities.

Reed & Mackay continues to operate as a standalone brand under the TripActions Group umbrella.
