Following its closure due to damage sustained during Hurricane Melissa in October 2025, the Royalton Negril, an Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort — including its adults-only, resort-within-a-resort Royalton Hideaway Negril — has reopened following an extensive restoration and refurbishment. The property has a total of 573 guest rooms, a spa, a fitness center, 12 dining outlets and 10,000 square feet of event space.
The Royalton Negril’s sister property — Royalton Blue Waters, also an Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort that has a resort-within-a resort, the Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters — will reopen on Sept. 15. The property features 578 rooms, more than 11,000 square feet of event space, 12 restaurants, 11 bars, a spa and a fitness center.
In a statement lauding the Negril property's reopening and the subsequent restoration of 960 employee positions, Edmund Bartlett, Jamaica's minister of tourism, said, “The return of Royalton Negril strengthens the recovery of Jamaica’s vital tourism sector, while restoring hundreds of livelihoods, and renewing economic activity across Negril and surrounding communities. The reopening comes as hotels across the island continue to return to service, with additional properties scheduled to reopen in the months ahead.”
He added, "This demonstrates what is possible when the public and private sectors, tourism partners and communities work together toward recovery. It means real income and a return to the livelihoods or our most treasured asset, our people. It means visitor spending, and supporting businesses and communities throughout the tourism value chain, from transportation and attractions, to agriculture, entertainment and small- and medium-sized enterprises.”
Additional properties scheduled to reopen in Jamaica by year’s end include Zoetry Montego Bay, Sandals South Coast and Sandals Royal Caribbean.
