Northstar Announces Spring Hosted-Buyer Events

Upcoming meetings are geared toward incentive professionals, smaller groups and planners new to the industry.

Small and Boutique Meetings

Launched in 2021, Small and Boutique Meetings is geared toward event professionals who are planning gatherings for 100 people or less. To be held three times this year, the first 2024 iteration will take place April 21-23 at the Margaritaville Lake Resort in Montgomery, Texas.

Over the course of three days, attendees will meet one-on-one with suppliers, take a site inspection of the host hotel, partake in optional activities around Montgomery, and more. Past exhibitors from properties with smaller event space include the Guy Harvey Resort St. Augustine Beach and the Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort in Florida, and Tennessee's Southall Farm and Inn.

Incentive Live

The first meetings-industry event to be held at the Fontainebleau Las VegasIncentive Live will be take place April 28-30. The must-attend event for incentive professionals will provide the latest perspective on industry trends and best practices. In addition to two education sessions, the agenda includes a tour of the brand-new casino resort and one-on-one appointments between buyers and suppliers.

Destination West

Although there is not yet an official date or location for Northstar's annual Destination West, it will be held in May in the Western United States. The hosted-buyer event will connect planners with hotels, tourism bureaus and DMCs from states like Colorado, Idaho, California, Arizona and more. Snowmass Tourism, the Venetian Las Vegas, the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Delta Air Lines were all exhibitors at last year's event in Denver.

Emerging Leaders

Northstar's newest event is dedicated to bringing together the next generation of industry professionals. The inaugural Emerging Leaders took place last year in Louisville, Ky. Qualified buyers should be between 22 and 37 years old, with at least two years of experience. They can either apply for themselves or be nominated by a colleague. Selected planners will participate in networking events with others in the industry who are at a similar stage in their careers, as well as content sessions focused on professional development. The date and location of Emerging Leaders will be announced soon.
