Northstar Meetings Group has announced that Destination Midwest, the must-attend hosted-buyer event for qualified meeting and incentive professionals sourcing programs in the Midwest, will take place August 5–7, 2024 in vibrant Wichita, Kan., known as the Heart of the Country. Visit Wichita and the Hyatt Regency Wichita will welcome planners and suppliers warmly to the state’s largest city.

Qualified planners will engage in one-on-one meetings and networking opportunities with representatives from destinations, resorts, hotels and DMCs throughout the Midwestern United States. The opening keynote will be presented by Jill Joerling Blood, lead legal counsel for Maritz Global Events, on "Future-Proofing Your Event Contracts."

In addition to gaining valuable insight from their peers and experts during educational sessions, participants will experience the charm of Wichita’s walkable downtown and nearby attractions. During their free time or by extending their stay, attendees can explore the city's public art installations, from murals to sculptures; immerse themselves in nature at Botanica Wichita; or participate in the Wicked Brew Tour.

"We are excited to host this group in the Heart of the Country," said Susie Santo, president and CEO for Visit Wichita. "When we conduct site visits, planners are always surprised by all that Wichita has to offer. To be able to show so many planners exactly what Wichita can provide their attendees is a priceless opportunity."

The Hyatt Regency Wichita, the host hotel, is conveniently located in Wichita's alluring downtown district, which stretches along the Arkansas River and is replete with walkable attractions and beautiful views.

"Northstar Meetings Group is so excited to bring Destination Midwest to the city and experience the vibe that Wichita is known for," said Alison Best, CMDE, business development director for Northstar Meetings Group. "There is nothing better than watching planners discover a city, and I know that the Visit Wichita team is ready to roll out the red carpet."

Limited space is available to planners for a VIP Sneak Peak pre-fam Aug. 3–5.

Suppliers will participate in all education, networking and curated one-on-one business meetings. To participate or learn more, visit NMGDestinationMidwest.com.
