This year, Incentive Live — Northstar Meetings Group's annual, must-attend conference for incentive professionals — is going digital to accommodate its community of elite buyers and suppliers as the world continues to navigate uncertainty surrounding travel and the status of live events.
The annual conference was originally scheduled to take place in Tucson, Ariz., in April but had to be rescheduled due to COVID-19. In a matter of weeks, the planning team converted the entire agenda so that it could be supported on a digital platform, complete with a showcase of speakers, one-on-one appointments, virtual networking opportunities and social events.
Incentive Live Digital 2020 will now take place July 27-29 on Northstar's custom digital platform, which features a virtual ballroom, lounge areas, gifting opportunities, interactive polling capabilities, video-conferencing, sponsorship branding, private appointment spaces and more.
Incentive Live Digital: What to Expect
The digital conference will mimic the same leading-edge event that our industry partners have come to love; the powerhouse program they expect; and will showcase an exclusive community of incentive, loyalty and motivation professionals joining together to move the industry forward.
In addition to one-on-one appointments between planners and top incentive destinations, hotels, resorts, cruise lines, DMCs, DMOs, brand-name merchandise, gift cards and tourism offices, Incentive Live Digital's three-half-day agenda will feature industry experts providing the latest perspectives on trends and best practices that will help attendees anticipate what to expect for the future of incentive travel and related programs.
Featured speakers this year include Stephanie Harris, president, Incentive Research Foundation; Mike May, president/owner, Brightspot Incentives & Events; Melanie Shrader, lead program manager, Bishop-McCann; and Kevin Edmunds, vice president of finance and business development, SITE. Some topics that will be touched on include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Where we are in the industry, what's to come and what we will achieve.
- What the new normal of incentive travel looks like in the era of COVID-19.
- How to travel and gather safely in the coming months and year.
- What high performers want in a post-coronavirus world.
The content-rich agenda also features a "deconstructed" version of the famed Incentive Roundtable focusing on current industry disruptors and how professionals can work to achieve recovery from current setbacks. "Meet the Masters", an interactive panel where 2020 Motivation Master winners will share insider tips into what makes an award-winning program, will also take place. Peer-to-peer networking and social events are scattered throughout the agenda to enhance connections and opportunities for all attendees and participants.
Keeping Business Connected
Incentive Live Digital aims to move business forward and to keep top industry professionals connected — even if from the comfort of their home offices. By joining buyers and suppliers together for multiple days of meetings and networking, the event will encourage participants to evaluate incentive trends and opportunities as they relate to the current state of the world, inspire fresh ideas for future programs, foster new business connections and prepare attendees to handle any challenges still ahead.
Some of the companies that have already booked their space at Incentive Live Digital include the Broadmoor, Cayman Islands Department of Tourism, Experience Scottsdale, Royal Caribbean, Seiko, Sony and Visit St. Pete/Clearwater. Northstar Meetings Group believes that, by coming together digitally, we can all plan for a stronger, more unified recovery.
