Northstar Meetings Group has announced that Destination Southwest, designed for meeting professionals bringing events to the Southwest United States, will be held Dec. 4-6, 2024, at The Woodlands Resort, a Hilton Curio Collection property in The Woodlands, Texas.
This event is designed to connect hosted buyers with top destinations, hotels and resorts, attractions, DMCs, DMOs, and tourism offices from Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada and Texas. Educational sessions during the event will cover dynamic topics: Tracy Stuckrath of Thrive! Meetings & Events will tell a culinary story of supporting DEIA efforts through the food and beverage served at meetings; and Liz Lathan and Nicole Osibodu of the Community Factory will help participants solve event challenges through their interactive Spontaneous Think Tank for Meeting Professionals.
"We are very pleased Destination Southwest is coming to The Woodlands," said Visit The Woodlands president Nick Wolda. "This is an important milestone for us as a meetings destination. We look forward to showcasing our destination and appreciate the consideration by Northstar for coming to The Woodlands."
The resort itself has a long history of welcoming events to its state-of-the-art conference spaces. The 402-room property offers more than 70,000 square feet of event space, the largest of which is 13,430 square feet. For relaxation, there are two championship golf courses, a lazy river, tennis and pickleball courts, and in-room spa services.
“The Southwest is a vibrant supplier market that is highly sought after by our meeting planner audience,” said James Antaky, business development director for the Northstar Meetings Group. “We’re excited to bring Destination Southwest to the Woodlands and thrilled to partner with Visit The Woodlands and The Woodlands Resort to provide an exceptional program and experience for all attendees.”
