This event originally took place on June 8, 2022.
As the world reopens, destinations are eager to welcome back group business. But selecting the right destination for your convention is easier said than done. Northstar Meetings Group's 2022 Convention Cities Index aims to make the site-selection process easier for planners of large events. This all-in-one resource provides key data points on the top cities in the U.S. and around the world that are ideally suited to hosting citywide events.
Planners can use the CCi to compare destinations and determine which city meets the specific needs of their group. The CCi lists are developed via extensive research and a weighted methodology system that includes six factors: available exhibit space, nearby hotel rooms, average hotel cost, travel time from the nearest international airport to the convention center, the number of direct flights into the destination per month, and the city's safety level for travelers.
During this session, Northstar Meetings Group's senior associate editor, Elise Schoening, reveals the latest data from the 2022 Convention Cities Index and discuss how and why the lists of the top 25 U.S. cities and top 25 global cities have shifted over the past six months.
