Miami Beach Convention Center District

The sparkling Miami Beach Convention Center District, which includes the Miami Beach Convention Center, offers gorgeous outdoor spaces, cultural venues and much more. Pride Park, Lincoln Road Mall, New World Symphony/Soundscape Park, Bass Museum and Collins Park, Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater, Miami Beach Botanical Garden, Miami Beach Golf Club, Carl Fisher Clubhouse, Holocaust Memorial, and the Miami City Ballet are all found within the district.

Transportation in & Around Town

Miami International Airport, the second U.S. airport to receive ACI Airport Health Accreditation, is 12 miles from the Miami Beach Convention Center. Transfer cost by taxi, $22 to downtown; by Super Shuttle, $15. Transfer cost by taxi, $35-$36 to Miami Beach. Uber and Lyft also service the airport.

    Meeting & Event Venues

    • The Miami Beach Convention Center is now GBAC Star-accredited facility. The MBCC also is a 1.4 million-square-foot LEED Silver–certified convention center. The venue offers 500,000 square feet of state-of-the-art exhibit space, a 60,000-square-foot grand ballroom, four junior ballrooms and 84 meeting rooms on 9 acres of surrounding lush green public space on the Miami Beach City Center Campus that can support additional outdoor events safely. The MBCC's innovative technology includes livestream, webcast and recording capabilities for face-to-face and hybrid events.

    • The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau and its dedicated partners have committed to the Greater Miami Destination Pledge to ensure peace of mind for visitors traveling to the destination. The pledge is a commitment to visitors, business travelers and meeting planners, that the CVB and businesses will adhere to proper sanitation standards suggested by the CDC to make Miami a clean and safe retreat.     • The Nobu Hotel and the Eden Roc Miami Beach share a combined 206 guest rooms and 70,000 square feet of meeting space, including the 4,000-square-foot oceanfront penthouse at the Nobu. 

    • The 250,000-square-foot Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science offers a multitude of event options. Outdoor spaces provide sweeping views of Downtown Miami, Biscayne Bay and Miami Beach. Indoors, meeting planners can choose between the nautical and the astronomical. The lowest level of the museum's aquarium, "The Deep," has a 31-foot-wide oculus lens, giving attendees a view of the turtles, devil rays and hammerhead sharks that swim overhead. The facility's Frost Planetarium can hold up to 250 guests.

    • The 800-room Grand Hyatt Miami Beach, opening in 2027, will directly connect to the Miami Beach Convention Center via sky bridge and offer its own meeting space and a pool deck.

    • The Hilton Aventura Miami is one of the newest full-service properties in the heart of nearby Aventura. The hotel offers first-class luxury with premium business services and amenities. The Hilton Aventura Miami has 8,466 square feet of meeting space with a dedicated event kitchen with Kosher capabilities, a grand ballroom, six meeting rooms and outdoor event spaces.

    • In Miami's arts district, SGWS Wynwood is a modern-industrial venue designed with foodies in mind. Have a catered meal in the Founder's Room, sample wine in the Tasting Room or take a cocktail-making class in the Mixology Lounge. The three rooms have a total of more than 4,000 square feet for events.

    • The JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa in Aventura has completed a $250 million renovation, including upgrades to the Tidal Cove Waterpark. The property has 685 guest rooms and 120,000 square feet of event space, including a conference center, 40 meeting rooms and two grand ballrooms. The 300-acre resort also has two golf courses, a spa and an award-winning restaurants.

    • Take your event out to sea with Biscayne Lady Yacht Charters. Offering luxury yachts, sport yachts, party boats and fishing boats, their fleet ranges in capacity from 65 to 400 passengers. Vessels can be chartered for a half or full day.

    • While The Bath Club on Miami Beach isn't open to the public, it is available for private events. Built in the 1920s, the property has been revitalized into a Mediterranean-style club with a restaurant, pool, fitness center and beach access. Their historic rooms can host up to 400 attendees. Outdoor events can also be booked on the beach with more than 1,000 attendees.

    The Ritz-Carlton South Beach, with 376 rooms and 30,000 square feet of meeting space, unveiled a $90 million renovation in late 2019.

    The Biltmore Hotel has unveiled a $30,000 renovation. The 271-room property has 75,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space. 

    Loews Miami Beach, with 790 guest rooms and 65,000 square feet of meeting space, has completed a $50 million facelift.

    • The long-awaited Goodtime Hotel has opened on Washington Ave. in South Beach. The 266-room boutique hotel, a joint venture between David Grutman of Groot Hospitality and Pharrell Williams, has a pool, a 30,000-square-foot Strawberry Moon restaurant and pool club, a gym and library. 

    • The Moxy Miami South Beach has debuted. The property has guest rooms and nearly 25,000 square feet of meeting and event space. Other amenities include two pools, a 24-hour fitness center, and five food and beverage outlets.

    • The Thesis Hotel Miami, with 245 guest rooms, has opened in Coral Gables. The hotel, near the University of Miami,  offers a pool, rooftop lounge, two restaurants, fitness center, yoga classes and 20,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor meeting space.

    • Another newcomer is the Hotel Indigo Miami Brickell, which debuted in March. The 140-room property has 1,600 square feet of meeting space.

    • The AC Hotel Miami Dadeland is another new entrant to the destination's hotel offerings. The 177-room hotel has five meeting rooms.

    Getting Active & Outdoors

    Greater Miami has a seemingly endless list of attractions that let groups and visitors enjoy the great outdoors. A green and easy way to get around is via the Citi Bike sharing program. The by-the-hour or monthly membership amenity gives locals and visitors 18-years or older access to nearly 2,000 beach cruisers located at hundreds of solar-powered DecoStations in Miami Beach, downtown Miami and other areas. Available 24/7; app and credit card payments are accepted. Another fun way for visitors to get out and about on Miami's most popular strips is with Freebee, a complimentary, electric-vehicle ride service driven by personable and informative "brand embassadors."

    • The Little Havana Food & Cultural Walking Tour takes groups around the famed Calle Ocho, diving into Cuban culture and culinary traditions.
    • Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens showcases more than 3,400 species of flora and fauna, including tropical fruit, orchids, butterflies and native and exotic plants.
    • Deering Estate, on the National Register of Historic Places, offers 444 acres of coastal Miami, which visitors can explore via canoe, kayak and boat, hiking and nature trails, and more.  
    • Ancient Spanish Monastery is a landmark in North Miami that details the history of this building that got its start 1,000 years ago in the Old World.
    • Vizcaya Museum & Gardens is a stunning, 100-year-old mansion built by an industrialist.
    • ZooMiami, one of the nation's top zoological parks, showcases more than 3,000 animals including koalas, tigers and elephants in large open-air exhibits.
    • Miami Seaquarium educates visitors on marine life conservation. Guests can delight in the venue's dolphins, penguins, seals and more

    Extending Your Trip

    Park It: Miami has more than 800 parks and is the only city in the United States that is bordered by two separate national parks: Biscayne National Park and Everglades National Park. Countless other parks situated downtown, oceanside and in the suburbs offer getaway opportunities for picnics, water sports, fishing and hiking. Following are more parks and venues of note:

    The Underline is a 10-mile stretch under Miami's Metrolink elevated train line that is being transformed into a park, urban trails and  public art space. Being developed in phases, the first stage of outdoor space has been completed.

    Miami Beach Boardwalk is a scenic pathway that stretches from the southern point of South Beach northward for approximately 40 blocks.

    Oleta River State Park, Florida’s largest urban park, offers more than 1,000 acres of greenery set against Biscayne Bay, ideal for kayaking, biking, hiking, swimming

    Maurice A. Ferré Park (formerly Museum Park), is a 21-acre public urban area in Downtown Miami, which features the city's longest waterfront baywalk.

    Virginia Key Outdoor Center's white sand beaches, nature trails, mountain trails and wealth of outdoor activities (kayaking, paddleboarding, and more) are just minutes from Downtown Miami and Miami Beach.

    Art All Around: Greater Miami is known for its thriving arts scene. One of the best-known areas celebrating and showcasing contemporary art is Wynwood, a former warehouse district that's been transformed into a happening arts hub. Features include Wynwood Walls — a hip outdoor museum that showcases large-scale works by some of the world's best-known street artists — plus 70 galleries and museums, dozens of restaurants and bars, and hundreds of innovative and inspiring creations.
