Construction on Atlantic City’s world-famous Boardwalk began in 1870, and from then on it has become an America icon. Visitors can stroll along the Boardwalk year-round and enjoy ocean views on one side and shopping at stores offering everything from high-end retail to salt water taffy, on the other. Recently, this storied byway was named No. 7 in the list of the “Top Ten Best Boardwalks Across the U.S.” as determined by Fodor’s Travel, which noted, “…Atlantic City still knows how to put on a show. All summer long, its 5-mile boardwalk thrums with casinos, concerts, dining, mini-golf, tram rides and that timeless stretch of beachside fun.”
