Visit Dallas is thrilled to announce the approval of a 2.5 million-square-foot convention center with 800,000 square feet of exhibit space and 300,000 square feet of breakout areas, including 160,000 square feet of ballroom space.
“This news is a game changer for Dallas and will put our city on the map as the preeminent large-city convention and meeting destination in the nation,” said Craig Davis, Visit Dallas President & CEO.
The center will not only be impressive on the inside, the outdoor event area will feature terraces with incredible views of downtown Dallas and the Trinity River. In addition to the expansion, there will be an all-new entertainment experience connecting the convention center with neighboring districts like the Cedars and the planned Rail District, creating a walkable experience that includes restaurants, retail, entertainment and lodging options.

Many Options to Explore
The new district will be in addition to the many places attendees currently have at their disposal to explore after sessions. Dallas has a walkable downtown as well as 20 vibrant entertainment districts offering live music, shopping hotspots, cultural institutions and dining options. And as guests walk the streets of Dallas, they can feel assured that the local hospitality community has been working diligently to welcome them safely by achieving the highest sanitation and safety standards, as demonstrated by the city’s new designation as a GBAC STAR Diamond Destination.
“Dallas is already a great meetings and conventions destination, with the accessibility of two major airports, affordable labor and an outstanding hotel product,” said D. Bradley Kent, Visit Dallas Senior Vice President and Chief Sales Officer. “The expanded center and Convention Center District will enhance Dallas’ competitive position and are exactly what our customers need and have been asking for.”
