As we get back down to business and back to on-site meetings again, The Beaches of Fort Myers & Sanibel is prepared to lead the way. Offering outdoor team-building activities, pristine nature and unique attractions, it's the ideal destination to book your upcoming events.

Nature as a cure

Nature and open spaces are good for the body and the soul. There have been plenty of causes of stress in 2020 and one of the best antidotes is exposure to nature. Luckily, nature is in abundant supply on The Beaches of Fort Myers & Sanibel. At the same time, outdoor environments allow attendees the space they need to spread out and feel secure.

With the increase in isolation and a sedentary lifestyle, it’s clear that physical and mental health have become more important than ever. And now, the nature-health connection is an established fact. In Parks & Recreation magazine, Dr. Suzanne Steinbaum says, “Research shows that spending time in a natural outdoor environment can be associated with lower levels of stress, depression, anxiety.... At the same time, it improves mood, self-esteem, working memory and overall feelings of well-being. This trend, called ‘ecotherapy’ or ‘forest medicine,’ is growing in popularity.”

Outdoor activities

Nature has other benefits too. Natural environments bring out the creativity that helps unlock innovative thinking. The Beaches of Fort Myers & Sanibel offers countless options here too. Groups enjoy outdoor wellness activities ranging from biking Sanibel Island’s miles of paved paths, kayaking the Estero Bay Preserve, or choosing from several types of yoga sessions including beach, laughter, goat and, yes, even flamingo yoga.

Other outdoor experiences include tours and demonstrations at ECHO Global Farm or healing along with rescued animals at CROW. Of course, bird-watching along the 4-mile wildlife drive at J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge is an easygoing, can’t-miss Florida adventure.
