Madrid Is On Track To Be A Unique Business Events Industry Destination

Seamlessly combining sustainability focused, cultural experiences with meeting productivity makes Madrid an ideal Business Events Industry host.

Concern for the environment and preserving local cultures has reached every professional sphere, including the Business Events Industry segment. By providing a range of unique incentive offerings that include a focus on sustainability, Madrid is working to achieve recognition as one of the most attractive Business Events Industry destinations.

Host Events in the Finest Hotels

Madrid has welcomed the arrival of many high-end hotels that incentive travel organizers will love, including the Four Seasons, the Mandarin Oriental Ritz, The Madrid EDITION and the BLESS hotel. Inside the BLESS hotel there’s a bowling alley decorated in the style of a speakeasy, where informal meetings or product presentations can be held. Another fun option is offered by the Hyatt Centric Gran Vía, which holds microtheater productions and culinary experiences in its Fénix Suite.

Enjoy an Abundance of Activities

Get behind the wheel of a Ferrari on the Circuito del Jarama racetrack; take to the skies in a helicopter, small plane or hot-air balloon to view the city from above;  receive tips from a pro while you golf or get swept up in the atmosphere of the horse races at La Zarzuela racecourse.

For a more arts-based activity, enjoy a spellbinding flamenco performance — recognized by UNESCO as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity — at internationally renowned venues like Corral de la Morería or book classes that will teach your group the secrets of this magical art form.

Sustainability as a Priority

Madrid's deep commitment to environmental protection led the Madrid Convention Bureau (MCB) to launch PLUS Legacy with US, a pioneer initiative in Spain consisting of a digital platform that helps organizers effectively manage the sustainability and legacy of their events in line with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) laid out in the UN's 2030 Agenda. The tool allows individual sustainability reports to be created for every meeting held in Madrid and provides recommendations to minimize their environmental and social impact, with the distinction that the analysis are performed before the events are held so that organizers can make changes during the planning stage.

Enjoying Madrid's Local Cuisine

Sustainability is a prevalent feature on Madrid's restaurant scene. El Invernadero, run by Madrid-born chef Rodrigo de la Calle, has been awarded a Green Michelin Star. This distinction, which recognizes commitment to sustainable gastronomy, is also held by Mario Sandoval’s 2-Michelin-starred restaurant Coque. Sample the city's traditional gastronomy at Botín, the oldest restaurant in the world according to the Guinness World Records.

Contribute to Sustainability with Art

Arrange an exclusive tour of the restoration studios at the Thyssen-Bornemisza, Prado museums or the Spanish capital, in addition to private tours of the top art museums, providing a first-hand look at the work they do to preserve some of the world’s most important artistic treasures.  Purchase artisanal goods made in Madrid, whose sales helps preserve local trade and culture. Arrange a workshop at an artisanal business, where participants learn to make their own goods under the guidance of Madrid’s most talented craftspeople. Patronize sustainable retailers like Ecoalf, which makes its designer clothing using materials salvaged from the sea, and The Circular Project, which prioritizes ecodesign.
