Meeting Planners Will Love What is New in OKC

Oklahoma City leader

Oklahoma City is one of the fastest growing meeting destinations in the Southwest. Its affordable rates are one reason and friendly atmosphere is another. Look past the traditional meeting locations and try something unexpected for your next convention. With new hotels, a brand new state-of-the-art downtown convention center, a modern streetcar system, exciting restaurant scene and plenty of attractions within walking distance of your meetings, there’s never been a better time to meet in Oklahoma City.

The $288 million Oklahoma City Convention Center will offer 275,000 square feet of dedicated meeting space with an additional 65,000 square feet of additional useable event space--featuring a glass-walled design that will flood the center with natural light.

With nearly 19,000 rooms city-wide and new developments on the horizon, the hotel scene is booming. Oklahoma City offers a wide range of price points and amenities including 20 downtown hotels within walking distance of the convention center and the Bricktown Entertainment District. In spring 2021, Omni Hotels & Resort will open a 605-room headquarter hotel directly adjacent to the Oklahoma City Convention Center. The hotel will offer 78,000 square-feet of meeting space, six dining concepts, a full service spa and a pool.

Oklahoma City Boathouse

If you’re wondering what you’ll do when you’re not taking advantage of all that’s new, there’s plenty of unique experiences happening all over the city, many just steps away from downtown. For the adventure seekers, grab your group and head to Oklahoma City’s Boathouse District where you can take on one of the only urban whitewater rafting courses of its kind or keep the adrenaline pumping and go rock climbing inside a grain elevator.
