Yuengling Moves Forward With Beer-Centric Hotel

The property could feature conference space, a beer garden and 200 guest rooms located near the company's Tampa brewery.

The Yuengling Brewing Co. is in the early stages of obtaining zoning approval to build a hotel near its headquarters in Tampa, Fla. Instead of offering a room with a view, the company is really hoping to over-deliver on the idea of a room with a brew.

"Our goal is to bring an enhanced brewery experience to the local community, and to become a more integral part of Central Florida for our employees, local residents and visitors," said  Wendy Yuengling, sixth-generation family member of D. G. Yuengling & Son Inc. "This new development will not only offer visitors a better brewery-hospitality experience, but will also increase our presence as interest in locally crafted beer continues to grow."

According to details submitted to the city, the hotel would include 200 guest rooms, 5,900 square feet of conference space, 12,700 square feet of restaurant space, a microbrewery, a tasting room and a beer garden, as well as a Yuengling museum.

Yuengling says it is looking to take advantage of its brand and location, and to create more of a destination in Tampa's Innovation District. The company says more plans will be revealed in the near future.
