Walt Disney World's new Swan Reserve hotel
The Orlando area has welcomed a new hotel as well as the development of another. One month after Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary kicked off, the 349-room Walt Disney World Swan Reserve Hotel opened on Nov. 3 adjacent to the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin in the middle of the resort.
For groups, the property offers two ballrooms and 12 breakout rooms, for a total of more than 15,000 square feet of meeting space. More than 13,000 square feet of outdoor event space also is available, including The Vue, the hotel's rooftop venue.
Guests of the Swan Reserve receive extra time in the parks with early entry and extended evening hours. They also get full access to the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin's six pools and 22 restaurants and lounges.
"This is the moment we all have been waiting for and we look forward to offering an experience like nothing else," said Disney's area general manager Sean Verney.
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, a division of Accor, and Development Ventures Group have announced plans for a new property on 30 acres in Orlando's entertainment district, which will open in early 2025. The 550-room property will offer 90 suites, 12 villas and 87 Fairmont Gold rooms. The Fairmont Orlando, the brand's 20th property in the United States, will feature more than 44,000 square feet of function space. Seven food-and-beverage options are planned, including a Mediterranean restaurant and an upscale steakhouse.
"Fairmont Orlando will be a notable addition to Accor's growing luxury portfolio in the region and is poised to become a prominent hotel in Orlando catering to the most discerning of travelers," said Heather McCrory, CEO of Accor North & Central America.
