Universal Orlando Resort

A Comprehensive Event Experience Suited to Every Planner’s Needs

Ordinarily during site selection, meeting planners must decide on numerous meeting elements such as hotels, meeting venues and off-site options for food and activities. But at Universal Orlando Resort, each of those meeting elements are offered within one destination, making a group gathering here one filled with excitement and inspiration.

One Destination. A Universe of Possibilities.

Now featuring 11 hotels with the recent opening of Universal Helios Grand Hotel, copious amounts of meeting space, four theme parks and a dining and entertainment area with myriad options, Universal Orlando Resort can meet the needs of any group.

Through a joint-venture partnership between Loews Hotels and Universal, the hotels run the gamut from themes based on various worldwide locales and a Hard Rock Hotel to value-based properties for groups needing overflow rooms. Meeting space on site is widely varied too, enabling groups large and small to find a home. Meanwhile, Universal’s four theme parks and its dining and entertainment district provide a vast array of entertainment, food and fun just a stone’s throw away from the properties.

The “universe” at Universal Orlando Resort is getting bigger: The Universal Helios Grand Hotel, a Loews Hotel, made its debut within the much-anticipated Universal Epic Universe theme park. Bringing the destination’s portfolio to a total of 11 hotels and 11,000 guest rooms, the property is being designed to transport guests to “a fantastical world within the palace of Helios, the Greek god of the sun” through design elements such as celestial and constellation patterns as well as elegant, yet casual Mediterranean components. A total of 500 guest rooms and suites, some with views of Universal Epic Universe, offer a tranquil garden “feel,” while a dedicated entrance off the lobby provides easy guest access to and from the theme park (valid admission tickets required).

At Bar Helios, a rooftop bar and lounge, attendees can indulge in creative tapas and familiar favorites, plus handcrafted specialty cocktails, while enjoying 360-degree views of Universal Epic Universe and beyond. Onsite meeting space includes the Helios Grand Hall, a 5,000-square-foot function space that also offers customizable banquet menus. A resort-style, zero-entry pool with rental cabanas, a hot tub, poolside movies, and more; a fitness center, a game room and a Universal Orlando Resort Store top the list of other amenities. There are three diverse dining options: Flora Taverna, a full-service restaurant and lobby bar serving Mediterranean comfort foods in a setting overlooking beautiful Celestial Park; Aurora Market, a contemporary coffee shop offering freshly roasted coffees, grab-and-go food items, and enticing snacks from day to night; and the Lotus Lagoon poolside bar and grille. Additional guest perks encompass Early Park Admission to select attractions at Universal’s theme parks (up to one hour early with valid admission tickets), complimentary shuttle transportation to the theme parks and Universal CityWalk, resort-wide charging privileges and more.

Embracing the growing trend of “mindful consumption,” three Loews properties at Universal Orlando Resort are debuting the Free Spirited by Loews elevated, bespoke bar program for guests who choose to consume less or no alcohol. The program, which extends beyond the bar to integrate with catering and event planning, offers a curated selection of non-alcoholic beverages that reflect popular flavors and are designed to be as “thoughtful and intricate” as their alcoholic counterparts. Orchid Court Lounge & Sushi Bar at Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando features the Royal Orchid, made with pineapple juice, house-made blueberry rosemary syrup, orgeat, lemon juice, and sparkling yuzu, while Amatista Cookhouse at Loews Sapphire Falls Resort at Universal Orlando serves up the Sapphire Margarita, prepared with Lyre’s orange sec spirit, white cane spirit, orgeat, lime juice, blue agave, freshly squeezed lime, and salt. The Thirsty Fish at Loews Portofino Bay Hotel at Universal Orlando touts the Arancia No-ssa, which contains Lyre’s non-alcoholic agave, Italian orange, blood orange, and lime juice.

Universal Orlando Resort is adding two new distinctive properties to its menu of hotel options, giving planners an even wider selection of options for groups. Universal Stella Nova Resort and Universal Terra Luna Resort will boast a combined total of 1,500 luminous, ultramodern and surreal guest rooms with two queen beds and spaceship-style windows, making them an ultimate escape where attendees can rest amongst stars and planets.

Amenities will include:
Resort pools: Each hotel will feature a nearly 10,000-square-foot pool with a relaxing hot tub, comfortable lounge and table-top seating in the pool area, a firepit and more.
Fitness centers: Guests will enjoy access to complimentary, state-of-the-art fitness centers with a variety of strength and cardio equipment, plus locker rooms with showers available for use on arrival and departure days.
Game rooms: Dedicated game rooms will tout a variety of standard arcade and video games.
Recreation rooms: Each hotel will have approximately 1,000 square-feet of multi-purpose space for small gatherings.

As for dining, both properties will include a variety of unique venues, among them:
Cosmos Cafe and Market at Stella Nova Resort and Omega Cafe and Market at Terra Luna Resort: These quick-service restaurants will feature made-to-order American classics for breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus a selection of grab-and-go items.
Galaxy Bar and Galaxy Grill at Stella Nova Resort and Moonrise Bar and Moonrise Grill at Terra Luna Resort: Attendees will be able to enjoy burgers, quesadillas and salads at these walk-up service pool bars and grills. Cocktails, beer and wine will be available as well.

Where Meeting Planners Become Heroes

Among the hotel options is Loews Sapphire Falls Resort, where guests are transported to the Caribbean with island-themed decor. The 1,000-room property features 115,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, a separate entrance for meeting attendees, a dedicated registration desk and three offices for meeting planners.

Sapphire Falls’ guest room inventory includes rooms with views of the hotel’s 16,000-square-foot, resort-style pool and white sandy beaches; some rooms also overlook a lagoon. Eighty-three suites include the nearly 1,300-square-foot presidential suite and a 1,353-square-foot hospitality suite. Also on site is Amatista Cookhouse, a full-service restaurant that serves Caribbean-inspired cuisine and offers private dining options.

On the meeting space front, the hotel offers the 41,000-square-foot Grand Caribbean Ballroom, the 30,000-square-foot Kingston Hall, 16,000 square feet of outdoor space and 16 meeting rooms.

The Loews Meeting Complex at Universal Orlando was designed with planners and their needs in mind. The recently renovated facility combines and connects Loews Sapphire Falls Resort and Loews Royal Pacific Resort — situated just minutes from each other on foot — to create the perfect destination for groups of all types.

Collectively, the two properties offer a total of 2,000 guest rooms and 247,000 square feet of meeting space. This includes four ballrooms, ranging in size from 30,000 to 42,000 square feet; a whopping 31 meeting rooms; and 41,000 square feet of outdoor meeting space. The complex also features eight distinct eateries, including four exceptional full-service restaurants. Among dining possibilities, Loews Sapphire Falls Resort has several Caribbean-themed eateries, and Loews Royal Pacific Resort touts a Polynesian-inspired restaurant as well as a combination lounge and sushi bar.

Royal Pacific Resort brings 132,000 square feet of renovated indoor function space to the complex, including the 36,000-square-foot Oceana Ballroom, the 42,000-square-foot Pacifica Ballroom, the 6,356-square-foot outdoor Wantilan Pavilion and 15 meeting rooms. Conjuring up a Polynesian paradise with its decor, Royal Pacific also has 1,000 rooms, including club level accommodations and 51 suites. Islands Dining Room, the property’s full-service restaurant, serves Pan-Asian fare in a casual setting and offers private dining.

Both Loews Meeting Complex properties offer 24-hour room service, complimentary water taxis to the theme parks and, for shoppers, free delivery to guest rooms of merchandise bought at the parks. Meeting attendees seeking lower-key experiences than a theme park visit — or a fun way to wind down after visiting the parks — will find game rooms, a lazy river and even a bowling alley at the hotels.

An Out-of-This-Universe Experience

The four theme parks present a plethora of experiences for meeting attendees to enjoy either on their own or in group activities. Planners can arrange after-hours events, team-building activities, private group dining or many other outings at Universal Volcano Bay, Universal Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios Florida and the new Universal Epic Universe. Also on site is Universal CityWalk, the aforementioned dining and entertainment complex.

Named the No. 1 amusement park in the world by the Trip Advisor Travelers’ Choice award every year from 2015 to 2019, Universal Islands of Adventure is home to several adventurous attractions, including The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Hogsmeade, Marvel Super Hero Island, Jurassic Park, Seuss Landing and more. In addition to daytime fun, attendees can enjoy a wide variety of evening entertainment and experiences. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Hogsmeade, offers groups a ride the Hogwarts Express, a motorbike adventure, shops that sell magic wands, Quidditch equipment and more, or a rustic tavern serving up some favorite Harry Potter drinks. Also on tap at the Harry Potter attraction is Universal’s award-winning cuisine.

Meanwhile, high achievers, organization leaders and others can be celebrated at Marvel Super Hero Island. The evening kicks-off with a red-carpet arrival and then, amid a colorful comic book setting, attendees can take a 3D ride through New York City with Spider-Man, get turned upside in zero gravity on a Hulk-themed ride and more.

Of course, Universal Studios Florida is well known for its television and movie-themed attractions. The park is home to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Diagon Alley, and meeting attendees can ride the Hogwarts Express between the two British-wizard-inspired attractions.

In the evening at Universal Studios Florida, meeting attendees will have a host of unique evening experiences that will transport them to iconic cities and imaginary lands while private diners are served by an award-winning culinary team.

Various areas within Universal Orlando Resort create a special ambience for events. For example, an evening in New York surrounds groups with building facades known from famous movies while another option is a visit to Hollywood, where parties can be held against the backdrop of landmark buildings from the 1930s and 1940s.

There also are numerous outdoor spaces for cocktail receptions, elegant dinners and strolls in well-known neighborhoods and cities, and meeting attendees can finish their night with Minion-themed cupcakes, macarons and cookies at Bake My Day, in Illumination’s Minion Land.

Boasting 15 venues and two restaurants, Universal CityWalk offers a myriad of experience options. Groups can have dinner in private dining rooms or full-buyout situations with  meeting attendees at any of 15 venues and two restaurants, including a Hard Rock Café; chocolate factory outfitted with a full-service restaurant; NBC Sports Grill & Brew, where 100 televisions line the space; a Caribbean-themed spot that pays tribute to Jamaican music icon Bob Marley, and a karaoke bar that really lets singers shine by providing a host, a live band and back-up singers.  Additionally, meeting planners can book a CityWalk Block Party where groups of 600 to 6,000 attendees can take in multiple spots and a wide variety of foods.

Whether attendees are foodies, adrenaline junkies, nostalgia buffs or world travelers, Universal Orlando Resort’s array of experiences that planners can arrange appears to be virtually endless. Learn more about planning an event experience at Universal.
