U.S. News & World Report Releases 2019 Best Hotels Ranking

U.S. News & World Report has announced its 2019 Best Hotels, giving recognition to a number of meetings- and incentive-friendly properties across the globe. The Four Seasons Resort Hualalai on Hawaii's Big Island was named the top property in the United States, and La Réserve Paris–Hotel and Spa as Europe's best. The rankings evaluated more than 30,000 luxury hotels and resorts across the USA, Europe, Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and the Caribbean.

In the Best Hotels in the USA rankings, the Peninsula Chicago came in number two, and the Four Seasons Hotel at the Surf Club, Surfside, Fla., was number three, with the report emphasizing that the properties are known for their outstanding service, a host of on-site amenities and their elegant accommodations. 

Runners up in Europe were the Hotel Sanders in Copenhagen, and Rome's Hotel Eden. Aside from Paris, London and Rome, the rankings also cover such cities as Istanbul; Dubrovnik, Croatia; and San Sebastian, Spain.

U.S. News awards the top 10 percent of ranked hotels with a Gold badge. The five domestic cities that are home to the highest number of Gold badge-winning hotels in the U.S. for 2019 are New York City with 39 Gold-badge winners; Las Vegas and Los Angeles with 14 each; and Washington, D.C., and Chicago with 12 each.

For the Best Hotels in Mexico, Esperanza, an Auberge Resort in Cabo San Lucas took the top spot, while Le Blanc Spa Resort in Cancún was the Best All-Inclusive Resort in Mexico. Jade Mountain on St. Lucia won Best Hotel in the Caribbean and also snagged the top spot as the Best All-Inclusive Resort in the Caribbean. The Rosewood Hotel Georgia earned recognition as the Best Hotel in Canada for the second year running, and the Loren at Pink Beach ranked number one on this year’s Best Hotels in Bermuda list. 

U.S. News' 2019 Best Hotels rankings span more than 400 destinations; new this year are additional city-specific rankings to the U.S. portfolio, such as Lake Placid, N.Y., and Carlsbad, Calif.

"The U.S. News Best Hotels rankings combine data from industry-expert evaluations, as well as traveler-focused reviews and insight to provide a more holistic idea of what each hotel has to offer," said Hannah Cheney, senior travel editor at the publication.
