With 205 properties worldwide, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts Group is in expansion mode with 61 hotels in the pipeline, including the just-announced property that will increase the chain's portfolio in Texas. The 233-room InterContinental Dallas Uptown is scheduled to debut in early 2022 within Cityplace Tower, a 42-story mixed-use building in Dallas' Uptown neighborhood.
The hotel will occupy eight floors of the tower and will include features such as a ballroom and banquet space with large windows overlooking the city, a restaurant with a fourth-floor terrace, an outdoor pool, a fitness center, a signature Club InterContinental Lounge and on-site parking. The tower's main entrance will be redesigned with a porte cochere for valet operations.
The InterContinental Dallas Uptown will be owned by NexPoint Advisors, L.P., an affiliate of Highland Capital Management, L.P., and will be managed by IHG. NexPoint plans to renovate various other sections of Cityplace Tower, including the lobby, and introduce new F&B and retail offerings.
"With its iconic design, sweeping panoramic views of the Dallas skyline and premiere Uptown neighborhood location, the Cityplace Tower is a natural fit for an InterContinental hotel," said Joel Eisemann, chief development officer, Americas, IHG. "This project will be a tremendous addition to our luxury portfolio in the Americas.”
