For groups that don't need sleeping rooms, new day-meeting venues will be debuting throughout 2020. Starting in January, Etc. Venues, Ltd., a London-based meeting- and event-space company, will debut three New York City locations.

The first to open will be a Midtown outpost at 360 Madison Avenue. The new space will feature 45,000 square feet of event space and 10 meeting rooms on two interconnected floors. A second Midtown location, named and located at 601 Lexington Avenue, will begin hosting events in early 2021. With 30,000 square feet of meeting space and a dozen meeting rooms, the property will host groups of up to 224 people. A third location is planned for downtown Manhattan, though details, its exact location and an opening date have yet to be announced.

Looking forward, Etc.Venues' managing director, Alastair Stewart, says more day venues will begin to pop up. "We plan to open between nine and 12 venues in three to four years' time," he says. "Initially, [we'll focus] on the East Coast, then across the States, and more globally from there. We'll start with the usual suspects: New York, Boston, Washington, Philadelphia. Chicago is an obvious spot for us. The larger the city, the better."

Convene will debut its first London venue in September 2020.

Convene, a New York City-based meetings and workplace-solutions company, is traveling across the pond to open its first London location. Debuting in September 2020, the 22 Bishopsgate venue will feature 51,000 square feet of meeting space across two floors with the capacity to host up to 300 attendees. The space will also offer 600 or so desks and flexible work suites that can be customized for groups of up to 100.

"As Convene’s first international location, 22 Bishopsgate is an incredibly unique, human-centric work destination with inspiring community and amenity spaces integrated throughout the building," says Convene CEO and co-founder, Ryan Simonetti.

Convene also expects to open additional properties next year in Washington, D.C.; New York City; San Francisco; Nashville; and Boston, and additional sites in London, though specific details have yet to be announced.

In March 2020, MicroTek a business training and meeting room provider based in Downers Grove, Ill., will open a 15,000-square-foot executive training and conference center in downtown Dallas. The new space in the city's Lincoln Center Tower will feature 11 meeting rooms, computer labs, virtual collaboration studios and "huddle" rooms.

MicroTek's Denver and Atlanta locations will be undergoing renovations next year to bring the properties up to the company's current standards.
