Mark A. Herrera is a globally recognized security and leadership expert with more than 30 years of experience in law enforcement, homeland security and venue safety. He is the former chair of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Public Assembly Facilities Sub-Sector Council, advising on safety strategies for major venues and mass gatherings across the country.

As founder and president of Global Awareness Professionals, Herrera has led more than 500 large-scale security trainings throughout the United States, Mexico and Canada, helping venues, stadiums and public facilities build stronger, more resilient teams. He is known for bridging security and guest service, teaching organizations how frontline awareness, communication and leadership culture can prevent incidents before they occur.
