Viktor Dudás

Journalist, editor and film expert

Viktor Dudás is a prominent film expert and journalist who has been involved in Hungarian entertainment media for more than 20 years. He is a regular participant at major international film festivals, and has worked with the Hungarian National Film Fund and Hungarian Public Media to help Hungarian productions enter the international market. Dudas has been a commentator for nine Academy Awards broadcasts and is a member of the Critics Choice Association. He shares his knowledge and expertise through international training courses and at several universities in Hungary.

In recent years, Hungary has emerged as continental Europe's largest film-production center, making the movie industry a vital part of the country's economy. Noted film expert Viktor Dudas will take us on an entertaining journey through the history of Hungary in cinema, share clips of blockbusters that were shot in Budapest ("Dune," "Dune 2," "Black Widow" and "The Martian," to name a few), and introduce the audience to artists who've made their mark on the modern Hungarian film scene.

The session will take the audience on a deep dive into:

Hungary's rich and vibrant history in the film industry
Hollywood blockbusters that were filmed in the country
Academy Award-winning Hungarian films and directors
