After taking place in Alabama last year, Northstar Meetings Group's annual Destination Southeast event returns to Florida Aug. 3-5 at the PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens. The hosted-buyer event is designed to connect planners who are actively sourcing programs with hotels, tourism bureaus and venues from the Southeast, including Georgia, Tennessee, the Carolinas and more. The three-day itinerary features two education sessions, one-on-one meetings, a breakfast sponsored by Visit Mobile, Ala., and free time to enjoy the resort.
"Destination Southeast has evolved into our largest and most impactful destination event, uniting North American meeting planners with supplier partners across the region," said Shalise DeMott, vice president of sales for Northstar Meetings Group. "It offers the perfect balance of business and networking opportunities and is a favorite among both buyers and suppliers."
The iconic golf resort features six courses, four restaurants, 339 rooms and more than 53,000 square feet of event space. A recent $100 million propertywide renovation encompassed the pool deck, dining establishments, golf courses, rooms and more.
"We are thrilled to host Destination Southeast and work with Northstar on this important gathering of meeting professionals," said Philippe Thevenet, PGA National Resort's director of sales and marketing. "Our recent management transition to the Salamander Collection has elevated our authentic and warm service levels, and we look forward to showcasing PGA National's extensive renovations, which have helped reestablish the resort as one of the top golf and group destinations in the country."
