A new trade show is coming to Singapore next week. The Meetings Show APAC, scheduled for April 17-18 at the Marina Bay Sands, will be the largest event launch for Northstar Travel Group, Northstar Meetings Group's parent company.
More than 160 appointment-taking exhibitors have registered for the show, along with hundreds of buyers eager to book business in the Asia-Pacific region. The event program will focus on five key topics: sustainability, technology, workforce management, experience design and wellness.
Nearly 50 educational sessions will be held during the two-day show, including keynotes, panel discussions and campfire sessions with technology leaders. Speakers will include experts from Tourism Economics, Informa Markets, Gevme, Cvent, the Events Industry Council, the American Society of Association Executives and the Global Destination Sustainability Movement.
"The Meetings Show Asia Pacific is the largest organic event launch — by every measure — in the history of Northstar," says David Blansfield, executive VP and group publisher, Northstar Travel Group. "The performance of the event alone is a testament to the current importance and the future potential for MICE industry growth throughout the APAC region."
Meetings tech in action
The Meetings Show APAC will feature several new event technologies, including facial analysis from the AI company Zenus, which will provide behavioral experience analytics to speakers and exhibitors. Pigeonhole Live, an engagement technology company, will offer multi-language interactive functionality during the content program. The Meetings Show APAC will be the first event to use Snapsight, a just-released, AI-powered solution from Gevme that extracts event content insights in real time.
An immersive travel experience on the show floor will be powered by event audio provider Cinewav, while Body and Brain Wellness will offer aura readings using biofeedback imaging systems.
Sustainability lessons
The event program includes a two-part introductory course for the Sustainable Event Professional Certificate, hosted by the Events Industry Council. Among the topics covered will be the role of the business events industry to accelerate sustainability action, as well as how to manage and measure carbon emissions. Attendees will earn credits towards the Sustainable Event Professional Certificate.
