Welcome Remarks & Educational Session: "From Farm to Fork: Lessons in Sustainable F&B From the Hudson Valley"

Presented by Jack Algiere, Chief Agroecology Officer & Advisor, Stone Barns Center for Food & Agriculture

Food should never be an afterthought, especially when it comes to events. Exceptional meals can elevate the experience, tell the story of a destination and contribute to a more sustainable future. In this session, Jack Algiere of the Stone Barns Center for Food & Agriculture will discuss the rich history of regenerative farming in New York's Hudson Valley. He'll explain how the center brings farmers, chefs and scientists together to build a better food system that benefits people and the planet — and how event planners can apply these ideas to their own gatherings.

Attendees will learn:

  • The history of Stone Barns and how its farmers partner with the two-star Michelin restaurant Blue Hill to push the boundaries of sustainable agriculture
  • Strategies for collaborating with venues and local partners for food-sourcing and innovation
  • How to create immersive, sensory-rich menus that spark curiosity and leave a lasting impact
