Why Puerto Vallarta for Your Next Meeting or Event?

With its diverse natural beauty, sophisticated culinary scene and outstanding array of accommodations and meeting facilities, Puerto Vallarta is an ideal destination for meetings and incentive groups. Centrally located on the Pacific coast in the state of Jalisco, the city offers easy connectivity with the United States and Canada.

Puerto Vallarta’s five zones — Marina Vallarta, the Hotel Zone, Downtown, Romantic Zone (Old Vallarta) and South Zone — offer more than 22,500 guest rooms in multiple categories, as well as more than 215,300 square feet of event space. Events are enhanced by the city’s network of qualified suppliers, which include destination management companies, production houses, tour operators, rental-car companies and audiovisual companies.

Safety and security are also a top priority here; the destination regularly ranks among the top-ten safest destinations in Mexico. It’s no wonder that the city welcomes more than six million international visitors, including attendees, every year.

Puerto Vallarta’s exceptional scenery and climate are a natural setting for outdoor activities. Planners can choose from countless activities and venues that allow attendees to appreciate the region’s natural beauty along the Bay of Banderas. Groups can immerse themselves in the destination’s well-developed cultural scene. Puerto Vallarta is dotted with art galleries and cultural venues; even the city’s Malecon — the main oceanfront promenade — features modern and contemporary sculptures.

The city is considered Mexico’s second food capital, thanks to its more than 2,000 restaurants. With its award-winning chefs and many food festivals, Puerto Vallarta is a gourmands’ paradise.

Those who explore beyond the waves will be rewarded with a view of the Colomitos Waterfall.
  • The Day of the Dead Festival celebrates one of Mexico’s most revered annual traditions. The Dia de los Muertos is a time to commemorate deceased loved ones and celebrate family. The official days are November 1 and 2 every year, but groups can learn about this fascinating tradition throughout the month of October in Puerto Vallarta, thanks to the city’s public exhibits and cultural programming. • Puerto Vallarta is known for its sophisticated and diverse culinary scene; planners looking to enhance the attendee’s gastronomic experience may want to consider organizing arrivals around the Festival Gourmet International, an annual event that takes place in November. This year, the festival takes place November 9-19, with an inaugural gathering at Tierra Luna Gardens, a picturesque outdoor event space. Every year the festival attracts foodies and chefs from around the world for a variety of tastings and experiences, with more than 30 restaurants and hotels participating.
