Visit Greenland, the official convention and visitors bureau representing the world's largest island, has announced that its CEO Anne Nivíka Grødem will step down at the end of May. Grødem has served at the CVB for five years. She joined in 2021 as vice chair of the board and was appointed CEO the following year.

The news comes as President Donald Trump has renewed efforts for the U.S. to acquire Greenland. The island, which spans 836,330 square miles, is home to more than 56,000 people. It is an autonomous land within the Kingdom of Denmark.

According to the press release, Grødem is stepping away to pursue new opportunities. The CVB will begin the search for a new CEO as soon as possible. During the transition, Linda Kleist, Visit Greenland's head of destination development and cruise, will serve as acting CEO. Kleist has been with the CVB for three years.

"The past 5 years at Visit Greenland have offered some of the greatest and most meaningful challenges of my working life," said Grødem in a LinkedIn post, which was written in Danish. "I have been fortunate enough to be enriched with strong relationships, to be challenged in both my skills and my views, and not least to be allowed to be part of an organization with an important purpose for our country."
