Retirement was brief for longtime exhibitions-industry executive David DuBois, who stepped down as CEO and president of the Exhibitor Group July 1. As of today, he has officially joined MatchPoint, a startup that is creating an AI-powered professional-networking app, as director of strategic development. DuBois brings more than 45 years of experience in the events industry to the role, as MatchPoint looks to make inroads in the trade show market.

DuBois served as president and CEO of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events for 11 years, before joining the Exhibitor Group as president and CEO last fall. He had intended to relax and focus more on his golf game following his retirement from the Exhibitor Group, but MatchPoint's mission to remove the randomness from networking spoke to his professional passions. The app is designed to facilitate better connections at large events.

"Joining MatchPoint at such an exciting time is an honor," DuBois said. "The innovative approach they bring to professional networking aligns with my passion for connecting people and advancing the events industry. I look forward to contributing to the continued success of MatchPoint and building strategic partnerships that will drive monumental growth."

DuBois will attend the Sept. 12 CEIR Predict 2024 conference on behalf of MatchPoint, showcasing the technology for exhibitions industry leaders.

"David’s unparalleled experience and strategic insights are exactly what MatchPoint needs as we continue to innovate and lead in the AI-powered networking space," said MatchPoint cofounder William McGlade. "His contributions will be invaluable as we work towards our vision of revolutionizing professional connections."
