Personalized rewards and “wow” experiences are what incentive winners want, according to the latest industry research. The 250 participants at Northstar Meetings Group’s Incentive Live, held May 31-June 2 at the newly restored Boca Raton resort, experienced both of those elements firsthand, and got expert advice on how to infuse them into their own incentive events.
A gifting experience allowed attendees to select jeans, sunglasses, jewelry and watches from several styles. During registration, participants also were invited to send blankets and cards with personalized messages through the With Grace foundation to children and their families who are dealing with pediatric cancer.
The education agenda kicked off with Annette Gregg, CMM, CIS, CEO of the Society for Incentive Travel Excellence, who delved into the ogranization's latest incentive research, revealing that delivering moments of awe and wonder should be at the center of incentive design.
Northstar also partnered with The Above and Beyond Foundation to present a $5,000 Hero of Hospitality Award to Lyubomir Kukov, who works in valet services the Boca Raton.
Designer Amanda Perna, head of House of Perna, and alumnus of Project Runway, shared tips on how to make every winner feel “seen.” Afterward, attendees were invited to choose a gift created by House of Perna and sponsored by the Palm Beaches, each tied to one of the experiences the CVB curates for groups — beach and outdoors; culinary; sports and golf, and spa and wellness.
