Currently managing vice president of sales and industry presence for third-party firm Maritz, Murdock brings more than 25 years of hospitality and meetings experience to the position he will take up on Sept. 22. He has a strong record of organizational leadership, industry engagement and relationship building. He held his position at Maritz since 2016, following years in senior sales and leadership positions across the meetings sector.

Building value in finance and insurance sectors

In his new role, Murdock will be asked to advance the organization's strategic priorities and further strengthen the value FICP delivers to the meetings communities of financial services and insurance sectors.

"Jamie brings the leadership experience, industry perspective and collaborative approach we were seeking in FICP's next president," said Lori Allen, vice president of global event operations for MetLife and chair of the FICP board of directors. "Throughout the search process, he demonstrated a deep appreciation for our community, a commitment to our mission, and a thoughtful vision for building on the strong foundation that generations of FICP leaders, members and partners have created. We are excited to welcome Jamie to FICP and confident his leadership will help us build on that momentum for our association and the broader industry."

Murdock's initial priorities will include strengthening member and hospitality partner engagement, advancing professional development opportunities and elevating industry thought leadership. As president, he will help put the association's strategic direction into operation, support long-term organizational growth and serve as a key ambassador for FICP within the events and hospitality industries.

According to FICP, Murdock's broader meetings industry experience complements the association's commitment to the specialized needs of meetings professionals within financial services and insurance companies, and the hospitality partners who support them. His industry relationships and perspective will help FICP advocate for, connect with and advance this highly focused community while remaining grounded in the association's distinct member base.

"I am honored to join FICP and excited to serve such a highly engaged and respected community," said Murdock. "FICP has a remarkable legacy, a deeply committed membership and hospitality partner network, and tremendous momentum for the future. I look forward to listening, learning and working alongside the board, our members, partners and staff team to build on that success and continue advancing the profession."
